I enjoyed the game, didn't think England were great but well done to them. Very good goal for the winner and the goalie did well earlier

VAR use on penalties has been terrible. In particular, the Italy penalty was not even on target!
Thankfully the PL will not use this technology for penalties next season. The Women's World Cup should do the same IMMEDIATELY!

At first I was in favor of VAR in the PL. However, if it is implemented/managed like it has been in the women's world cup then there will be chaos in the stands.
England deserved to win today despite the shaky defense and a referee who appeared to have lost control of the game and who was not knowledgeable of the rule changes.
FIFA should buy her a one-way ticket back to China.

The first Cameroon goal was a good goal, unless a portion of the "heel(as in walking away from the play)" of a player on the far side of the field, who was clearly walking away from the play, is offside. Maybe the offside rule needs to be revised, or even done away with.
The ref. lost control of the game after this awful decision. Even though I had sympathy for their players, why did the ref. permit the Cameroon players bring the game to a standstill by protesting for a good 3-4 minutes and no cards given to anyone? Or was this an acknowledgement that the decision was wrong. Also,, the new rules say that the referee is "no longer part of the pitch" and a drop ball is called for when she interferes with the play. She was hit by the ball in the second half and allowed play to continue! She also tried to control what became a very rough game with a stupid smile on her face.
If England defends in the next round like it did today, it will take more than VAR and pathetic officiating to save them.

I thought the CR got most every decision right and handled the Cameroon players with patience and intelligence.
Regarding the ball hitting the ref, following us a quotation regarding this type of situation:
“a dropped ball will also be given if the ball hits the referee and goes into the goal, the team in possession changes, or a new attack begins.”
I don’t believe any if those conditions applied so her mom-call appeared correct to me.
The heel in the VAR decision is included in what i referred to as hair splitting decisions.
