Dont have one but you are effectively streaming yes ?
so surely youre going to have buffering etc when your watching tv
Fck that!
Android Box?
Borg Phannie.
I've got one.
It's just brilliant.
My cousin sells them and installs them for people now.
The box itself just comes as a bog standard android set up. He has all the software and apps pre-prepared and just programmes it all for folks.
I've not downloaded anything since I got it. Plus I get BT Sports on it now so can watch any matches that are on there and the Moto GP
My cousin sells them and installs them for people now.
=======
which cousin is it ?
Im all of a sudden interested
seriously , doesnt it buffer alot ?
Kodi/xbmc still isn't great. Don't know why anyone gets them android boxes over a card sharing box. Box itself is 40 and costs 40 a year for a good server. You have full sky package with no buffering. I've used one for years no issues

They're unreliable and buffer a lot. Changing channels can be a nightmare too. Not a fan of kodi myself.
I've not long got one - not IT litterate so struggled at first but got it sussed now. Have decent wifi but needs plugged in to reuter with ethernet to work despite saying wifi will do it. Still getting to grips with it but all sports and movies coming up - been a sky subscriber for twenty odd years - scunnered with how dear it is !
Got an M8 TT TV - £60 from amazon inc wee keyboard to make using it easy.

Well you've just proven me wrong. I just imagined almost no buffering. It all depends on your broadband speed as well. Mine is very average but I have no issues with the box.
Changing channels isn't as easy as Sky or BT but then when you aren't paying for the channels it's what you expect.

What box does your cousin sell?
I been doing the whole smartbox thing at £20 a year and its been fantastic but looking at kodi etc but on a cheap PC
That was my fear about the buffering, plus I didn't realise you would have to use the ethernet cable, is the wifi no good on there? Thanks for the replies folks, apart from Leo, durty bassa 😁
I've had no problem with the wifi.
I've not used an Ethernet cable at home in years.

Which one mate, they are a family of boxes
M8?
I have a metricon g box, use it to watch box sets and films with no real buffering problem as my wi-fi is decent. Don't really use it for live TV but have watched quite a few football games on it. Just have to look for a decent stream and also a stream your internet can handle. For the money I think they are amazing and have been watching TV shows from my youth aswell as all the up to date TV. Big plus is no adverts
By the way a lad I know who does the which Xbmc/kodi for people said the amazon fire stick was brilliant so far
They can be set up with kodi etc and apparently he says they are the best thing after having it on a pc

There is loads out there. Depends what you want.
I have no issue with not having a menu or TV guide past the now and next but people pay loads to have that feature
I also don't mind Irish ads for stuff I have never heard of but I know some people vet irritated by it
For me £20 pa for all matches is pucker with no lag or buffering. Bests sitting in front of a laptop screen
