A Grexit will have an effect on the Euro, but economically it will not be as devastating as some people would have you believe- for the Eurozone that is, for Greece it would turn this recession into a depression that may last for decades.

It is the political consequences that will be damaging for Europe more so than the economic consequences as after 2011 there has been substantial reforms to ensure the currency can cope.

Furthermore, many transfers are paid in installments, Manchester United are probably rich enough to pay lump sums- but I'm unsure if they do that in practice.

I am sure United would prefer to get their business done quickly- any saving of a couple of million euros will not be something they'll squabble over you'd imagine.
