First big test of the season

I think its far too early to judge a win or loss as a seasons marker for either team. Traditionally its one of our hardest away days and the game could go either way, arsenal and Liverpool have not settled yet.

Id take a draw now, 7 from 9 points when we have played arsenal and stoke away aint too shabby. My head is telling me 2-1 to arsenal but my gut is saying draw. If we get costs and benteke on the ball i can see arsenal but having difficulties. Hoping can will play and firmino...should be a good game.

Liverpool a big test only won against Bournemouth due to linesmen a game they would have lost if the correct decisions were awarded. I even predicted Bournemouth to win 0-1 and they techincally did if it wasn't for an inept linesmen.

Anyway I am hoping for an Arsenal 1-1 Liverpool draw and maybe Arsenal from suffering that home defeat to west ham will probably not close game out against Liverpool and get punished..

Liverpool to park the bus and a boring 0-0 game to ensue.

Hope I am wrong though and Arsenal win by a big margin

I noticed the mancs are out already, if Liverpool are easy to beat them surly you shouldn't care about our results.

My gut, is saying it will be a draw, we are starting slowly, and yet getting results, our first 10 fixtures are difficult do maybe the manager keeping it tight, or we could end up miles behind after our fixtures

I'm not sure Schneiderlin is a huge upgrade on Coq. He Is a box to box midfielder but is quite limited when u compare him to the best in the business Vidal, Pogba e.t.c

What I can say about him is he is an intelligent passer but other than that if I had to compare him to Ramsey which is the fair comparison he is hardly significantly better than the Welshman.

I must honestly say I did want us to sign him especially for away games as l liked his double pivot with Wanyama. Made the saints almost unbeatable away from home last season.

Coming to Monday's game, it is no different to the 3 points we will get the following weekend as I don't think Liverpool will challenge for the title mainly because of their excursions in Europa.

We simply need to trade in 3 points this season, less draws & more wins. Draws are important against the top 4 teams away from home. Every other match we must go for 3 points. That is how we will win the league.

I've given up on keeping clean sheets. We will simply have to outscore the opposition which we can do as the game at palace showed. We could have won 8-1 or even more.

b10 listening to Merson. Palace were better for large parts of 2nd half but Arsenal won the 2nd half due to an OG and only showed up for last few minutes of the game.

I'm worried - we've looked very lacklustre in our opening two games.

Liverpool will likely play an inexperienced RB at LB - this would be the perfect opportunity to exploit that with a direct wideman like Chamberlain, but I fear Wenger's going to opt to play Ramsey down the wing again.

I'm also a bit wary about Liverpool's pressing game, if we don't play with much pace in-behind.

If we set-up with a front three of Sanchez-Giroud-Ramsey, then I'm worried we'll struggle.

DaStuDogg Liverpool are one of the least pressing teams in the league. They are more a counter attacking side. They try to absorb other teams attacks and defend very deep.

Hafi an expert on all things liverpool, your not a secret liverpool supporter are you, god forbid!

Liverpool didn't press last season because they had no CF able/willing to. I've got a feeling Rodgers will go back to a higher intensity pressing game this season after signing more mobile forwards.

It's what brought him the best results at both Pool and Swansea.

RedMen7 did you not see my prediction for your last game and I would have been right but I failed to take into account poor officials.

We've struggled at the Emirates recently; we need to be seriously clinical.

Sorry for the late response.

I agree with Science here; Liverpool moved away from their pressing game last season when they brought in players like Lambert and Balotelli. Their signings this season (particularly Firmino and Milner) seem more in-keeping with the aggressive pressing style that worked so well for them before, so it's possible they could revert back to that style.

I understand his natural position was CB, but I heard he's played predominantly as an RB thus far in his career. Either way, I think the point still stands that LB doesn't seem like a natural position for him (although admittedly I've heard he's done well so far).

I think over the last couple of seasons, we stopped really pursuing a 3rd goal. Maybe due to a lot of criticism for conceding on the break when doing so.

When we go 2-0 up now, instead of going on to smash away 5 and just end the opposition. We step off the front foot and attacks become half - hearted for fear of conceding.

With a decent DM in place, it's time for Wenger to stop the easing off. I wanna know he's sending them out for the second half 2-0 up, telling them "I want this wrapped up in ten lads, finish them."

We need to thump some teams and we can't if he's got everyone easing off every time we hit 2
