Igor, I think it's a case of various assistant coaches button actual number 2.
You're right about Bent but Marton can learn from KP. Ince should be the priority though.
Martin knows where the onion bag is Peeder.
He's proved that for us and we miss him more than any player, maybe George but if he can get better with KP he will go down as the best bit of free business ever by the Rams and yes Clough deserves the credit for the risk.
Plenty of 's at the time.
His flick against the dogs was a thing off beauty that I've seen live, only thing, Barlow did all game
I don't think KP can do much to improve our first team although we have Shack in the reserves who really knows where the goal is and is in KPs mould. He should reap the benefits.
Ince won't understand a word KP says. Totally different players. Same goes for Martin and Bent is past learning. Yman and Russell possibly but they are played on the wings.
So it's proven ability as a player that we hope can be translated into proven ability as a coach.
There was a left back for Forest once, very good player can't remember his name, I think he tried to coach a going nowhere Championship club, poor fella didn't have a clue.
Nothing against KP though I hope he does very well for us and welcome to the club, just seems like a bit of a risk as 666 said when we have two new-uns running a very expensive ship.
If what Peeder said is true though re. lots of assistants as opposed to 2nd in command, then maybe not so bad, although with all these assistants why do we need Clement as THE head coach? Middle management eh
Still think there's a lot of managers and coaches out there who get the job based on their previous playing ability not their coaching ability.
Wonder who's decision it was to get KP in?
Pearce is a thicko who nobody in their right mind would think could be a decent coach. Phillips has always sounded an intelligent feller, albeit with a bleeding Cockerny twang. He said that it was Clement who phoned him so perhaps conspiracy theorists might need to calm down slightly. I had thought we were perhaps one light on the coaching side and expected another to come in. You would think that Peacock and Phillips would be a good combination of old and young to help Clement.
The Southern coup is complete, okay so Peacock is from Leeds but that's as good as being a southern softy.
I wasn't on the TEG trail more asking whose decision and why if it was PC did PC choose KP ahead of t'uthers int'it?
Well, it is doubtful whether Clement and Peacock got their jobs based on their playing ability. Sometimes it seems as though people aren't happy unless they can find something to whinge about. Which "t'uthers" was KP chosen ahead of? Surely the obvious inference is that PC chose KP because PC thought KP might be the right person for the job. Nigel Pearson clearly also thought that Phillips was a good person to have on the coaching staff. Phillips sounds ambitious and while a player voiced his intention to pursue a career in coaching. Maybe he should be prevented from doing it because he was a decent player or maybe we should be happy to see an enthusiastic young coach joining our set-up who has a lot of experience of playing at this level and above and who can help our younger players, not necessarily gnarled veterans like Martin and Bent, improve their game. Phillips was a master of positioning and timing in and around the box and it was this that got him all of his goals rather than raw ability as such. Good guy to have on board.
Can I just point out that Martin is only 26 and hardly a gnarled veteran. He can still learn plenty from KP.
Other than that I totally agree with Vidal!
Context, Vidals: context.
I don't think the likes of Iwas or even Fridge would disagree that a successful side is most often found with a blend of experience and youth, a broad brush of all characteristics which complement each others strengths and weaknesses and provide a balanced platform on which to perform.
The concern with the appointment of KP seems to be mainly founded on the inclusion of yet another inexperienced coach to the ranks of a largely-unproven team; his skills as a player are not in doubt, nor his enthusiasm, but can he coach? Is he so grateful for the opportunity that he won't dissent when a more seasoned coach might?
A cautious welcome is best advised; not everyone will just up and clap everything, like what Backo does, because some of are a bit wiser than that. Left to the likes of you and View and Baz, we'd still be listening to Jeremy Keith.
"yet another"
Expansion is one of your few undoubted talents, so go ahead: expand. Clement is an experienced coach although not a head coach. John Peacock is a very experienced coach. Maybe you mean at Championship level, in which case I would draw your attention to last season's three promoted teams and ask you to tell us their combined Championship managerial experience (hint: it's not a lot).
.
"yet another"
You freely admit that PC is not an experienced head coach. John Peacock is not an experienced coach of senior players, predominantly being experienced at youth level. KP is not experienced at coaching at any level.
Length of service or experience are not in any way guarantees of success, but then neither are exuberance and enthusiasm or we'd all be successful coaches of promoted teams, wouldn't we?
A bit of experience would have been my preference.
Personally, I'm relatively happy with this appointment. Listening to KP's interview on Rams Player this morning I was, however, surprised to learn he is yet to do his coaching badges. His appointment therefore does seem to be something of a 'punt' ..
So he hasn't done coaching badges so he is there to try to get over to the players the instinct he had in the box.
Good luck with that Kev.
Can we stil get Connor back?
As Vidals will no doubt leap to point out, there's no proof that moderately-successful ex-players without coaching badges can't be excellent coaches; just look at Nigel Clough.
I'm going to need my burny pitchfork
I thought Clough did get himself a badge. If you have a badge it just means you have a badge, not that you are a good coach. 666 could probably get himself a badge with "I Am Not A Berk" written on it, if you know what I mean.
Here's his interview.......http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p032vj6t 🐏
"I thought Clough did get himself a badge. If you have a badge it just means you have a badge, not that you are a good coach."
Evidently.
LCFC fans seem unanimous in their good opinion of KP and disappointment that he is leaving, going so far as to say that he made Vardy into an England striker. Is there ANYONE who doesn't think you're an imbecile, 666, yourself excluded?
Break out the bunting then!
What a coup! An inexperienced, uncertified journeyman ex-striker coach has joined our club: might as well send Chrissy Martin the ballon d'or now along with the golden shoe, see if they can save on postage.

Get him talking to Ince Yman and Russell. If he can't show Ince especially what it is to be a good pro, no one can.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
In what way has Tom not been a "good pro" whilst at Derby?!
Why are people assuming a coach, who USED to play as a striker, can only coach strikers?
He's an assistant coach ffs, not "the forwards coach".
Marco, I just think he needs to be more involved more often and track back a bit more. There's no doubting his talent.
I see him tracking back all the time Peeder?
Granted it doesn't come naturally to him, but I've been pleasantly surprised by his attitude since we first bought him in on loan, especially considering his reputation.
I judge players as I find them and I don't think he shows lack of effort/desire at all. Maybe it's just me. Or maybe people are judging him unfairly by what they saw/heard from him in his younger days.
