I think Baines, Coleman and stones will still come in when fit as they offer more to the attack. It's pleasing to see how good our back up is now. The youth policy along with the occasional shrewd signing (mori) is really paying off.
Such is galloway's form that I'm no longer worried if/when Stones leaves
We now have squad strength in most areas.Still light in the goalkeeper area and also forwards.
Midfield we have numerous options and the youngsters filling in in defence have bright futures.Hope we can keep hold of all of them including Garbutt
Goal is the first place we need to strengthen next summer. Howard simply isn't good enough. Midfield we have lots of options same with defence so at the moment another striker and keeper should be priority
With limited funds and good prospects coming through money can be spent to improve the required areas
The question now is who do we get?
That is te right question. Fraser Forster would have been the one I would have liked.
But do you go abroad??
I think we'd have to go abroad, I think Fraser would now cost a fair bit. Unfortunately I'm not well versed on keepers overseas ignoring the obvious big names (neur, ter stegen etc)
Pleasantly surprised with how well the defence has coped with the injuries. Even though the youngsters have done really well I think extra credit should be given to jags. With out his experience and leadership it would have been even harder for the new/young players (I include stones in that).
I agree Mr R, on current form he's probably the best English defender at the moment (given that stones is injured)
And people say martinez can't build a defence...

I am admittedly one of those people, so far he is proving me wrong but still not 100% sure, but it's one of those things I am happy when proved wrong <ok >
Defence is never going to be Martinez's strong point, but he seems to have learned from last season. I'd like to see Robles get some games this season, I genuinely don't think Howard should have got his place back last season when returning from injury

I know Howard is prone to a mistake or two but Robles!?!

After a dodgy first game Robles played really well and with some authority when Howard was out.We kept some clean sheets and looked less flaky at the back.
Couldn't have done his confidence any good when Howard immediately replaced him the moment he was declared fit.
