Allow folk to have a drink at the game FFS

It might stop folk getting tanked up at the pub before the game quite so much, and might even see some folk drink less if they decide just to get a pint at the game where the price is more than their local.

Just make the rule that you cant take your pint to your seat, means the most folk will drink is a few before, 1 or two at half time, thats it. Selling it at the game also puts money in the club coffers rather than the boozers round the ground, so could help reduce ticket prices.

Its ridiculous that in 2015, football fans in Scotland cant be trusted enough for alcohol to be sold at the grounds...its preposterous.

Ridiculous?

Just like the no drinking in public places and on buses rule?

Bevvy at the ground will only have one outcome.

Another riot

The only real question would be when?

"Only in Scotland would we say that giving people more access to drink will make them drink less."

Folk say the same for hard drugs too. "Make heroin legal and fewer folk will take it."
'Cause you know, alcohol and tobacco are legal and no-one takes them.

That comment was not meant as an "all round" argument.

Simple point made was, some folk will want a pint if they are going to the game, and may drink less if they could just grab a quick one at the game.

If it is not sold at the ground, it means they will likely end up in a pub an hour/half hour before kick off, and may have more than one in that space of time.

If it was sold at the ground, they could turn up 15 mins before kick off, get a quick pint, then take their seat.....done.

Of course there are going to be those that abuse it, idiocy to say they wont.

But when its common place in England, and common place at other sporting grounds in Scotland, its ridiculous that football grounds are singled out as areas where it absolutely cannot be sold due to the "scottish drink culture"...nonsense!

I know what I am like personally, and I know for a fact that if I was going to a pub before the game to get a pint as I couldn't get one at the ground, or going to grab a pint at the game if it was available.....I'd drink less if i grabbed a quick pint at the game, as opposed to sitting in a pub for a period of time, its a certainty.

IN THE HIGHLY UNLIKELY EVENT OF ALCOHOL BEIING ALLOWED IN GENERAL AREAS OF THE GROUND I WOULD THINK THE BAR WOULD CLOSE AT LEAST 15 MINS PRIOR TO KICK OFF

You ever been to a English Premier League game?
