I think the Great Wall being visible is an urban myth but I'm reliably informed Sol's ego is clearly visible.

It's so Brentesque. From the trying to think of intelligent ways to articulate his words, and failing: "the era of lazy people", to the egotism.
I really don't think his skin colour has anything to do with it, perhaps the size of the chip on his shoulder got in the way or perhaps he's just not very bright.
It's the size of the chip on his shoulder that makes him think racism is the legit reason for it. His ego won't allow him to accept any other reason, like simply just being unlucky.
