Terminator

I am getting old mate, and out in belfast last night, the number of monged pissheads was depressing, and I fear an attack on this type of night will be awful.
I was in belfast train station, with hundreds of zombie eyed fools wandering about,so lord knows what an attack on that Uk type scenario would have.
Mass stampede,,drunken selfies would be attempted, while victims bleed out,as folk video them.

We have armed police here just not every police officer.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I know, I put them under the specialist armed forces, not army, in my previous post. But I think it's something like just over 6k for the whole of the England and Wales, with by far the majority in London. That is not a lot, especially if you live in a big city that is not London.

Think about the Derrick Bird case, that guy in Cumbria who went on a gun spree, killing 12 and injuring 11, and the police, who were chasing him, unable to stop the killings because they weren't armed. How would you feel if one of your family members was a victim? How do you think the officers felt, being forced to witness the killings whilst not being able to intervene.

Also, I would like to point out that the police force in Northern Ireland has historically been - and still is -routinely armed, and even allow their officers to carry their weapons off duty!, because of the increased threat of armed terrorists over there.

It is clearly working in Northern Ireland, and the police and public in the whole of the UK is now under considerable threat of attacks from terrorists, so I really don't see any good argument for not arming more of our police forces.

People standing about oblivious to the attacker,as in the rigby attack....nation of zombies at times.

Then all over the scene, and police trying to get them back, like dopey voyeur sheep.

Humanity.

Yeah, one bloke even wandered across to the kiosk to buy something

A ticket maybe?

What's the point in arming them all when the ones that are armed and highly trained can't do the job?

The responding armed officers who got to the two funts who murdered Lee Rigby should have ended it there and then but they are now costing the tax payer millions.

Is a gun really as effective as a female PC screeching "STAND BACK OR ILL TASER YOU" a dozen times??

Police have been training for a major terrorist incident. If they wanted more arming they would request it but they haven't.There is no comparison to mainland UK and what happened in NI during the troubles.

3 of my friends are in the Police force, and all of them have previously said they wouldn't want to be armed. They'd all think about leaving the force if they had to use a gun. It takes a special person I suppose. Its easy enough saying 'we should arm our police', but then you've got to have the right people to carry it out.

Another guy I know loosely through one of them is part of the special armed response police. A few years ago, he'd only been in the job a few weeks when there was an incident at Manchester Airport that went pretty much unreported. He's of the mentality where he would be comfortable pulling the trigger if he had to. Plenty in the regular police force wouldn't want that responsibility.

I worked in community safety for years and specifically with the police at senior levels and I would not like police to have guns at all levels.

The amount of ''fudging'' the police do in reports etc is my main reason. Trust em when you hear a superintendent on the news saying something happened a certain way its 60% truth, if that

Personally I dont see the attack as terrorism related ie ISIS as yet and i think its wrong to give it those headlines, similarly the shooting in America

I could be wrong when details emerge but I think that being the headline straight away is irresponsible and gives victory to the wrong people

I dont want to be mean or rude but a mass shooting in America ( mass to them is 4 or more dead) is a regular occurance. Over 350 this year I believe.

And tubes in uk have had attempted murder incidents too.

Is the guy even a muslim? and no I dont mean like some on here literally what is his name etc?

This incident would have been so much worse if that loony had been able to buy a gun.

That's surely a fact no-one can deny? Therefore looser gun laws must lead to more gun murders. Just as there are in America.

The shooters in California got their firearms from their former next door neighbor. This is proof that even the strictest gun laws won't prevent people getting them.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Where did the neighbour get them?

Well, no it's actually proof that strict gun laws DO prevent people getting them! He was in London. You can't buy guns in London. He used a knife instead.

I am always shocked when I hear how easy people get guns in the UK

This is a little unfounded on my part as I have never known anyone sell or buy, closest I got was an ex school teacher who bought them into school to show us many years ago. Same teacher was mad when gun laws came in saying people like him would suffer not the criminals

My assertion is based on what I have read or heard from reliable sources if that make sense rather than experience

Anyway, I am just saying that I would have preferred watching that b'stard getting shot. He hurt innocent civilians as a revenge attack for Syria. Get rid.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I prefer him being caught and questioned tbh

sure if it was them or him then so be it and i agree with you, but the damage in turns of killings was done and too many unanswered questions
