For fek sake man,I thought I was argumentative, lol.

If you were a cop,you may think differently.

And we need cops to stop thugs and vermin ruining society..

If people behave and respect each other, cops would not beinvolved in our lives, surely.
They are human and will fail, but that is what all of us do.

I nearly joined and worked closely with the higher echelons mate

Its not as transparent as you think and I have seen it first hand. Remember the summer riots from years ago in the northern towns?

Me and the superintendent at the time had a discussion at the time over lunch and he basically said they lied

Like I say though of course its focus on the bad things on this discussion and inevitably that happens

Its like saying people in armies are no good. Overall that isnt the case but one of my relatives passed his test whilst in the army and it was basically sitting with a senior officer around the base and ''well done you passed' on leaving he became a HGV driver. me and you would have to either get an apprenticeship or pay and then get a license.

He crashed and I wasnt suprised, sure we could have too but our test would have been more involved than his was

In leytonstone, cops saved lives,as the attacker may have butchered more easy targets, then he may have been kiled by the mob......unarmed coppers risked their safety for us.

point is they did so without guns. What happened to those who were less fortunate wouldn't have been prevented with guns and we get to find out why the guy did what he did

They do have a firearms unit per territorial police force no?

Authority to carry firearms on a permanent basis will have to be granted by the Secretary of State. They are very restricted but units such as mine (RPDP) were allowed to do because of the nature of our requirement.

I am fully in favor of armed police officers. I've read a lot of comments (not just here, but also in official papers etc) about people here in the UK who want to keep their police officers unarmed because they are afraid of USA police behavior down here.

For me this is a total non-issue. We are European, and armed police officers are clearly working all over the continent, from my home country Holland, to Germany, France, Belgium, Spain, Italy etc etc. And guess what? They are not trigger happy like our US cousins, and not shooting down unarmed suspects.

And let's face it, it is not a question of if, but when a Paris style attack will happen in the UK. And as the brass already admitted after Paris, had it happened in London, there would have been a lot more victims because of unarmed police, and the time it takes for the specialist armed forces to arrive to the place of the scene, especially if there are simultaneous attacks.

The Merseyside police are a fūcking disgrace,I wouldn't leave the house if I knew the Matrix were armed.

People standing about oblivious to the attacker,as in the rigby attack....nation of zombies at times.

Then all over the scene, and police trying to get them back, like dopey voyeur sheep.

Humanity.

Yeah, one bloke even wandered across to the kiosk to buy something

A ticket maybe?

It was a newsagents smart ass. And it was about ten yards from where the incident was happening.

You do enjoy looking stupid, don't you?

There was an armed robbery at the spray away offices next door to my restaurant in Manchester a few years ago. 5 armed Salford Scallies in balaclavas. I called the police and 25 minutes later 2 unarmed bobbies turned up in a paddy wagon. I told the to do one and asked what use they would of been against 5 shotguns. No answer from them.

What annoyed me was one of the men who tried to restrain the knife man at Leytonstone said there were grown men filing on their phones rather than helping to detain the man. Tarts!!

1. The UK police are armed.
2. There has NEVER been period in the history of UK policing when arms were not available and used by them - despite the ludicrous mythology suggesting otherwise.
3. Arming groups of people - especially those that are psychologically unsound, is indicative of an unhealthy society. And, as Orwell pointed out, those that have a desire to join such orgsnisations are of unsound mind and should thus be prevented from doing so.
4. As guns etc, cannot be uninvented the real issue is allowing us all the right to bear arms. I have no desire to own a weapon, but i do not accept the rights for government agents to be the only ones that are. The US constitution includes that right for all the right reasons

And by the way, if you are an African-American, you are 250 times more likely to be killed by a police officer than by ISIS (or whatever you want to label them).

IAm

Cheered me up with that.

What if you are pinky white,in harlem or compton?

Ratio of abuse, please, compared to black guy in say,Norwich.

More white people are shot by cops, but hey, lets label all cops as racist.

My glib post was in direct reply to gibberish about a black american being more likely to be shot by cops, rather than daesh,,,ffs man.

Go figure dude

These are also the kind of people who are waiting for the police to 'put a foot wrong', record it, and then send it up for the world to see. There are plenty of them about.
