No he's fine. Was mentioned on match commentary
And on the Spurs site. Purely precautionary.
He didn't want to leave the field and was taken off as a precaution,
It looked like the ankle but it will take more than this to stop him from wanting to play
Top bloke, top player & future captain
Precaution purpose only, he is a very important player to us. Hope he stays fit all season.
Was for the best as well, we didn't need him and Bentaleb needed match fitness.
As good as he has been, even if he missed a spell I think we have enough for it no not affect us too much.
Bentaleb, Dembele and Alli would be a more than competent three
Plus Mason, and even liitle Tom Thumb had a good game by all accounts
When and how did that happen?
Still think Bentaleb is the better player anyway, although he has done well
Yeah, Dier is flavour of the month right now.
He will probably have a bad spell at some point and people will get on his back, as has happened with Nabil, and eyes will be on the new shiny toy

When and how did that happen?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Chelsea game wasn't it?
Bentaleb could do with watching Dier and stop fackin showboating in the wrong areas of the pitch.
Talented lad no doubt, but prone to some major fack ups. Not injury lay off related either as he was making similar errors before then.
I don;t think he's 'flavour of the month' as you've so cynically said HRH, I just think he does a job that nobody else in our squad is capable of doing to anywhere near the same level.
Take Dier out of that side and you don't have the fluidity between Alli and Dembele to drop into each others positions because the discipline isn't there to protect. I really like Mason and Bentaleb but drop them in to replace and there's a completely different dynamic to the team.
He certainly is flavour of the month.
In the Summer Bentaleb was.
We have no idea if Bentaleb can do what Dier does with Alli and Dembele (another flavour of the month) because we haven't seen it.
Last season Bentaleb had to do it with Mason and Eriksen - no wonder we looked open
Bentaleb and Dembele were so good together vs Chelsea in the 5-3
He's a completely different player HRH and that's coming from someone who's seen him a couple of times in the youth setup too. He's a Carrick-esque player who likes an effort from distance. He's not and has never been built to break up play and give the ball off to those with better passing ranges (largely because he fits into the role that Dier would be playing alongside making those intricate passes). He doesn't have the same physical presence or tackling ability. They're not even comparable.
I don't understand why you're so quick to demean the impressive achievements of a young player who's done an excellent job in a new position?
Surely 'flavour of the month' means 1 month but Dier has been everyone's favourite player going on 4 months.
So flavour of the season so far maybe is better
Oh and can you have Two flavour of the month?
Exactly.....in a two man midfield too, not the extra protection we now have with three bodies in there.
We didn't look bad v Liverpool either to be honest, when Dier was out.
I really like Dier, but I think the system is the real star - we are far less reliant on a particular central player than we were
Flavour of the month is a term. If we are taking it literally they are not flavours either
Can we have two? Not in exactly the same position, no, but Dembele and Dier are doing two completely different jobs at present so I think we can, yes
I wonder if carroll has put down a marker last night. you guys think hes ready for prem?
The system is keeping us as a strong unit but injuries to any of the core (Lloris, Toby, Dier, Eriksen, Kane) will affect it. You can replace with other good players but I don't think we have any other players in the squad personally that have similar attributes to these five and thus the balance would be affected by any missing over a prolonged period of games.
Ben Davies is the flavour of the half-week for me. Onomah as well.
