Thanks Ramdini, good account. 👍
However, I think Thorne had an ordinary, albeit against his high standards, Christie wasn't brilliant and I still have to see Russell at his unplayable best again.
As you've alluded to, a good point from a good side (don't know why, but they surprised me) and we are in the pot, melting or otherwise.
👍
Cheers Ramdini
I'd love 3 points from Ipswich next week as well
Well written Ramdini
I thought Brighton were a better team than us. They were much quicker and attacked well, Wilson looks a good player and the number 5 Dunk played well. People have said their squad is a bit thin, well that Van la Parra looked good to me and Rohan Ince is good and then there's Zamora!
Our defence played really well, but the midfield need to gel better. They are playing far too deep and it leaves a gap in the middle. Martin wasn't getting any good balls to feet and when Bent came on he only touched the ball with his head. I was surprised when Butterfield was taken off, for me it would have been Johnson.
My pal Tom played better with more effort than recently, but I thought Yman had a quiet game. Johnny did better when he came on and won the penalty. Martin showed what a real man he is by stepping up to take a good penalty, hit hard into the corner of the net. I bet there was 30,000 fans holding their breath.
I was pleased with one point in the end although I had predicted an easy win. I'm not as confident as I was about not playing Burton twice next season
Christie was poor
Thorne was poor
Johnson was poor
Butterfield was poor
Weimann was poor
Hendrick was very poor
MILF, I think you should say what you think and not procrastinate.
Just to put our home point yesterday into perspective, Liverpool are currently 1-2 down at home to West Brom, having 70% possession and 25 shots on goal to WB's 4!
.....................and the miserable Geordies have just robbed Spurs 1-2 with a 90th minute winner FFS, well you have to
I hope Leicester win the Prem, (nobody else seems to want it)?
Ince frustrated me personally. Yes he possibly had a 'better' game but that was not difficult after Sheff Wed. I was very surprised he kept his place.
For me he is a show pony, a luxury player. He is too lightweight, jumps out of 50/50 challenges, and rarely produces a decent end product.
Johnny has to play ahead of him, surely.
Baz, I was surprised Ince kept his place but there isn't any real competition for his place. Russell doesn't take his chance when he's been given it. I can see a wide man coming in come January.
Just out of interest. How mad would you have been if that penalty was given against Derby?

He missed the ball altogether (late) and hit Russell, what bit was controversial?

At the time of the penalty I was saying to Backo it was never a peno as JR was going nowhere. I thought we were very lucky to get it
However I've seen it a few times since. The defender lunges at JR and catches him, late.
Outside of the box it was a foul as it was even bordering on dangerous.
Correct decision made
Scouse, you beat me to it
Tbf I haven't seen the reply, but Russell had crossed the ball, but I will accept it. I can't remember many if any derby players appealing at the time. Anyone remember the pen we got against Rotherham in the 3 div to win the game and go up? I still to this day can't see what it was given for but I will have it
Russell likes to run across defenders to draw the foul. It is one of his strengths as a player. We had a decent shout for a penalty in the first half when Martin was flattened in the box so karma prevails.
Griff
The ref blew for the penalty in that Rotherham game even before we had taken the free kick outside the box. I have always wondered whether Stuart Webb might have been owed a favour by the ref for some unknown reason.
Haven't seen any decent highlights (except the sky ones), as they don't seem to have appeared on the website yet, but you don't have to be in possession of the ball to be fouled.
It was a penalty. It was a very late clobbering tackle. If he had not done it late he would have got the ball and it would not have been a penalty.
He was a good ref. But he should perhaps have blown for a penalty for and ball since they received a huge advantage by it hitting the defender's hand
In the first half that is.
Just seen the highlights and for their second goal which came from a mistake between Hendrick and Johnson. Watch Hendrick stroll back after putting his defence under pressure. Giving him the benefit of the doubt that he thought he couldn't have helped but he was fresh legs on the pitch and should have been getting back quickly to support his defenders.
Had chris martin been recieving some stick from the fans behind the goal? I just watched the highlights and he looked very angry to say theleast when he scored, seemed to be mouthing off looking up into the stand and then kicked something next to him.
Stop all this crap talk about Martin. No one was moaning about him. We'd sang his song well before he scored.
No crap talk from me iwas, martin is an indispensible member of our team, was merely asking a question due to his reaction after scoring.
