It's just a hack that allows people to use pirated games, discovered being used in Brazil will probably be patched soon enough anyway.
Any problems with your system has nothing to do with this, anyone wanting more info check out the link.

Oh G#1 as far as your system going into Safe mode have you cleaned the vents, the system automatically shuts down if it's overheating.
If your vents are blocked a simple vacuum should solve the problem

99% sure it will G#1, seen it before, it's looks scary PS4 doing all sorts a weird things, but it's just looking after itself

Your PS4 could spontaneously combust, burning your house down, and Amiga would call it a great new feature
Chris, I have seen it before, the PS4 will shut itself down if it's senses it is overheating, there is no chance of burning your house down.
I was just offering G#1 advice, nothing more, nothing less
Well stop it I'm sensitive
What is 'safe mode'?
How do you know if your PS4 is in safe mode or if it's completely knackered, does it still switch on or power up etc?
Mine has been moved and in the little area it's in now it feels a little hotter than it used to!
United as long as you are not having issues, you are probably fine, although it is always sensible to give electronics, especially console room to breath and clean out vents regularly.
If your PS4 senses it is overheating it will shut itself down, but also can do other weird things like ejecting disc's switching itself on and off.
I say safe mode, basically it's rest mode and works as normal
If
My previous PS4 overheated, burnt my TV Stand, heard a loud bang, it shot my neighbour, ran off with my Mrs and cleaned out my bank account
Thats a gamble early adopters always take Manon, but you will be happy to know all those kinks have been ironed out now
my ps4 ejects disks on its own and then keeps ejecting so you cant actually put a disk back in until you turn the facker off by pulling the cable out the back.
just turning the power off normally doesnt do it.
Greg it is a known problem, although not something that I have suffered, apparently there is a screw just underneath the glossy cover (which just slides off) that can be turned to solve the problem.
I haven't tried it because I haven't had to, it's simple to do could be worth a go.
Greg I had a similar (or the same) thing where it kept beeping as if the eject button got stuck down (no disc was in there)
I just turned the PS4 vertically i.e. on it's side and it sorted it
It's about time these new fangled consoles started giving you all problems us old gits had to deal with when the only thing we had was a NES.
Blow on cartridge
Shake it a few times
Turn Nes upside down
slowly slowly push the cartridge down and use the plastic case to wedge it till it come on.
Aah the blow on cartridge days!
Good old nes and master system
so the PS4s are bricking now? lights of death return to haunt console owners
Nope PS4 failure rate is tiny and actually better than the xone, but both have a fraction of the problems the xbox 360 had with it's RROD.
As far as hardware this gen is pretty solid
Its a weird one.
Mine wont do it for weeks and then there will be 1 day where it ejects all the time and then it won't do it again for a while
As long as it's better than xbox then everything is ok
