Let’s be honest it was you the caaant. Told everyone not to talk about the film in your thread til a certain date then once you watched it started talking about it not caring if anyone else on the thread hasn’t seen it yet.
1 rule for 1 for another.
Although spitting your dummy out and getting admin to close the thread because we already pretty much covered the whole thing on another thread ( or two ) was pretty funny.

Was really unimpressed...
I wasn’t a huge dad of TFA, but my only hope was that somethings would’ve been explained, but things took a turn for the worst in all fairness!
These new Star Wars (except Rogue One) are more like the avengers than Star Wars IMO
I personally didn’t mind the Prequels as they were at least they were story telling...
I’m done with SW, unless someone I trust tells me it’s decent
I am finding this it’s like Avengers as a generic lazy cop
out.
Each to their own though

1) No explanation of who snoke was or any character development.
2) Leia flying in space
3) Luke Skywalkers role in general
4) The general cheesy Avenger style lines
5) killing out far too many of the original cast without any decent air time?
6) Luke’s Death
7) No single decent Lightsaber battle
8) Reys overacting
9) Reys knowledge of the force
10) Just wasn’t for me, but like Hengy said... Each to their own!

My quick reply
1, snoke was a means to a end ( although next film we’ll prob learn abit more through kylo flashback ), Kylo, Rey & Poe all had big development
2, it’s wss a force pull although pretty wierd scene and not really needed
3, thought Luke role was perfect myself
4, some comedic lines were definitely didn’t hit the Mark but some did.
5, Han had basically the whole first film and Luke this one. By all accounts Leia was going to have the next before her untimely death
6, was great imo only Jedi powerful enough to project himself across the galaxy before emersing himself into the force
7, maybe not one on one but the Rey/Kylo snoke chamber scene is up thier with best in the whole galaxy
8, Agee she’s not a great actor
9, all abit quick but Luke has said she’s the most powerful ( along with kylo ) he’s ever seen
10, agree some love some don’t. Personally I wouldn’t give up it just because off that.

1) They sacrificed Snoke in order to develop Kylo. I think the move was justified because Kylo's rise was one of the best parts of the movie.
2)Divisive scene and I guess it could have been executed differently.
3)Luke was one the stars of the movie. His old weathered jedi was perfect.
4)Some humour worked but some didn't.
5)I suspect that leia was set to have a last hurrah in episode 9 but her death complicated matters in relation to the story. Han and Luke had large roles.
6)Fair point but I didn't mind it.
7) Didn't need one. We had the rey kylo scene which is one of the best in the saga.
8) Fair point.
9)Still unexplained but there is still episode 9 left.

The biggest let down in the film for me was the portrayal of Luke and the manner in which Luke and Snoke died.
Minus a few unnecessary things that had no effect on the plot, the movie was fine up until the part where Luke finds r2 and he plays the Leia clip to Obi Wan. At that point it should have sparked Luke into action as he realises that what has actually caused everything bad post ROTJ is an evil, manipulative being called Snoke. Luke should have then left the island with Rey and gone to confront Snoke and try to turn Ben Solo.
That is how I see it anyway. The fact Luke and Snoke had to die wasn't the problem, the problem is they both went out like little bltches despite being possibly the two strongest force users of all time. If you want episode 9 to focus on Rey and Kylo that is fair enough, I understand Luke especially is overpowering in the saga, but why not have a massive duel between Snoke and Luke showcasting the best of their force abilities before they both meet their end?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Now that’s a film I would’ve liked!
TFA & TLJ have been big let downs for me and I won’t be paying to watch anymore of Disney’s interpretated continuation of SW
It's just the wasted potential that gets me. So much wasted potential.
At the end of episode 7 we finally had an evenly matched light and dark side for the first time ever in Star Wars, and two of the strongest force users of all time alongside two of the most naturally gifted and force capable youngsters of all time. It was all set up so well.
And what happens in the first 5 minutes of the movie? "The First Order are taking over the galaxy" how? The Resistance is down to 3 ships. Also how? The Republic was in power for 30 years how is the resistance that small?
And then Luke throws the lightsaber and all the other crap Luke moments ffs

Yeah I thought that too, but far too many plot holes to go through.
Me if I was gonna write a continuation from RTOJ then I would’nt of chnaged the story so much.
I would’ve had the old republic restored still and in tact, but have the darkness rising again in the form of a pupil or Leia or even Luke himself?
I would’ve heavily had the old cast involved in the first film with any new character being developed in this film too and interacting with the old guard, so the transition is solid and progressive.
Then the second film have the then newer characters having more of a role with the old guard still very much a part of it...
Now 3rd reboot film you can have the new characters saving the day or trying to ruin it/be in conflict... Whilst keeping nostalgia and explaining the force better with a few good Jedi/space battles thrown in.
What I’ve seen in both these newer films has been a complete car crash and I know I’m not a minority.
Rogue One was a solid film however
