It's always tough to gauge shows after 2 eps, feels like I start off giving these shows the benefit of the doubt and they end up having blown apart existence lore and being full of holes. Except for Andor which was the reverse.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think 2 episodes is enough. It doesn't have to blow you away immediately but there should be elements that keep you engaged and interested.

Mando season 1 and Andor season 1 had those things.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I dunno, I didn't hate Kenobi or BoBF after 2 eps, I didn't really think much of Andor after two eps.

Mando is a bit of an outlier I think.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The thing is, my optimism and good will for these shows have dwindled into the red, you know, like the notification you get with a low battery at 10%..

Kenobi and BoBF had legacy characters and same like you, thought they started off well. So of course optimism was high.
With the Acolyte, as Chancellor West says, it’s a fairly good start overall, mainly cos there’s a story here. but there are things in there that got me frantically rubbing my head.
But again, am I willing to let it pass, as it’s only 2 eps in? Am I being a bit unfair cos of what’s come before?

Fair enough Stringer, my issue with those two was that it seemed like after two episodes that it could be fun, but eventually it went on to do a bunch of stuff that contradicts the existing content we have.

I haven't watched either ep yet, but I worry that might happen again here in terms of the Jedi & Sith relationship, but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Look fam, there’s no 2 ways aboot it… these 2 eps alone will split the fanbase.
Think it comes down to where we at with this franchise..
You willing to forego certain things, and are you willing to accept certain things.

After chatting to my mates today, gives mans pause for thought..

----------------------------------------------------------------------
I've heard episode 3 is attracting a considerable amount of backlash.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I’m seeing the odd clickbait title… Film Threat is one channel that’s posted. Haven’t watched it.
I can’t imagine what they do that’s so bad… do you know?
And how do these Channels get early access like this, Chris Gore has been blasting Star Wars for the longest time. And he’s usually ain’t wrong…

Watched the first episode last night.

Trinity seemed quite fitting in the role. I thought the fight choreography was pretty poor tbh, the main character looked goofy and awkward as hell trying to punch (unable to tell if that was just the directing/choreography or the actress however)

Thought Trinity was pretty convincing as a Jedi however.... the Jedi are so bloody arrogant however!

Now you see, yes, she does look good as a Jedi… but all you see is Trinity. I don’t know how I feel aboot hand to hand combat in Star Wars.
A Jedi has a lightsaber for a reason, and that sends out a message to mans.. dont feck with a Jedi.

Kenobi was straight gangster, when a drunk tried to mess with Luke, and decapitated him.
You put yer hands on me, you losing yer arm.

I dunno - its interesting as you almost have a monk-like aspect, and they even say that Jedi were taught to only use their light sabre if they planned hard.......which in most SW cases they do

But I thought the part was interesting........but also yes super matrixy, was just waiting for Neo to turn up!

its also the arrogance that you see wiht so many jedi... you cant hurt me , im too good for you and defo a sense of playing with your dinner.

To be fair, it was an interesting twist on things Lucas did in the prequels, cos we thought Jedi were just bad asses, and super wise.
So then to make some of them look arrogant which Yoda is complicit in that, was a brave choice. But the right one. The Jedi are not perfect, and do make the wrong choices which they are blinded by.

Not gonna lie - I like the Jedi being portrayed as somewhat overbearing, pompous snobs with self-importance issues that seems to be leading into incompetence. As these are the things Luke recognises and tries to avoid in the EU.

It also gives a more credence I feel to how easily the Empire takes over, and by Episode 4 people have generally forgotten about the Jedi.

for the record I wasnt saying it annoys me just that it was very obvious and slightly overplayed in the first episode.

The Jedi are without doubt very arrogant and to a fairly large extent pretty pretentious.

slef rightous prix ..... the darkside is far cooler than they snobs..... The Jedi without doubt shop at Waitrose. cants

It was their hubris that led to their downfall.

The clone wars really fleshes this out.

Still not really sure what to make of the first two episodes. Some bits still feel like a fan made film and I can't quite put my finger one why.

Glad they haven't dragged out certain aspects of the story too long or fallen into tired tropes.

Episode 1 - 6.5/10

Nothing in this episode blew me away but it didn't deter me from watching further. It certainly has a feel of a TV show and the characters haven't gripped me in any particular way yet. The story itself has a considerable amount of potential, if done right and therefore I will continue with my journey and move onto episode 2.

Also, something happens within the first 10 minutes that I hope isn't real,as I feel like it would be a huge waste.

The clue might be in the synopsis… just saying fam..

Well will say bravo to the writers, 2 episodes in and hasn't had a need for a dumb/stupid situation. Thought one was gonna happen.......nope, stamp it out straight away.

Episode 2 was also perfectly average, but there is a story there that has potential, not gonna get too excited just yet but currently quietly optimistic for now. For the first time in a while I am not fearing the next episode with trepidation........however baby steps.

9/10 so far. Will watch it when the series has ended.

Yeah there were two points where I thought we were gonna bogged down in something stupid but both were immediately quashed.
