What a great win. Ourselves and Boro look the strongest in the division. When Boro get ahead in games they look like a ruthless results machine, the sort that gets promoted. We have more strings to our bow but I don't feel we dominate games like Boro do. Not yet. We are still improving though. Hull look like they are wobbling a bit: they were lucky to beat Reading and by all accounts have not impressed recently. The gaps below us are increasing....now to get a gap between us and third. The season is shaping up perfectly: slow start, gathering momentum, hitting top two at the right time and Mel's pen poised over his cheque book ready for January.
Good times.

The Geordie fans are ok.

Yes I suppose so Watters, but after working up there in the early nineties (when we were both trying to get out of the Championship), I think their supporters are more deluded than those not so far fron me?

Vidal,
We give the ball away to easily in midfield.
'Boro are starting to look like Fester when they walked-it? No mean-feat to win 0-3 against an undefeated side.
According to the early match report, "inces goal was his first for derby in 5 days"
Wow, that long? I bet he is relieved that barren spell is over.

Yeah, I agree. Considering the players we have in midfield we should be completely controlling that part of the pitch. I don't think we have the balance 100% right. Thorne is class, Johnson was superb when he started but has shown a tendency to give the ball away cheaply recently and Butterfield has been a bit in and out. Compared to Boro though we are still a work in progress to some extent. The bulk of their team has played together with their system for a while now. I think some of our players are still learning exactly how Clement wants them to play. Yet we are second, have lost only twice and since our first five games have had a fabulous return in terms of points. Got to be pleased with that.
What a win !
All heroes today, pick anyone fron the back 4 for MoM.
Maybe just Warnock for me.
Anyone still think Chris Martin is lazy ? I think not !
Fair play Mick
Ipswich boss Mick McCarthy: "It was a good, closely-fought game with not a lot in it. I have no complaints about the performance, only a few complaints about the goal as we had the ball and it ended up in our goal.
"There were times we could have picked a better pass or had more composure but I'm not going to criticise my players.
"You have to give Derby a lot of credit. If anyone finishes above them and Middlesbrough, I would be very surprised."
And in other news, despite a phenomenal deal of kids for a quid, hardly anybody turned up to the city ground.
This was blamed on everybody Christmas shopping, the wrong kind of leaves on the railway lines and the weather being too mild.
Morning all. Glad I didn't dream that win.

Yes, tiz true. when I returned home last night I was met by a very happy NSR. Apparently she is friends with my first born who turned 18 yesterday. Bit of a gamble to leave a bunch of teenagers free run of the house but it worked out well. I hope NSR is feeling better than first born this morning who hasn't moved off the sofa all morning.
Credit can only be given to Mrs View for raising such a wonderful young lady, who is welcome here anytime.
Really nice to meet you NSR.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It was an honour to meet you too Iwas! I was in pretty good shape this morning actually, managed to get myself out for a run which I'm guessing is more than "firstborn" could handle, judging by the state he was in last night
Thank you ever so much for letting your son open his house to us hoodlums, hope you don't regret it too much
Strangely enough the mini-JA606 meet up may have been the highlight of the party for me, it was highly amusing

I've always liked that McCarthy fella.
I stand corrected, thought he'd be moaning. Sorry Mick
