At the last home game there was a fat bloke with a with a white beard dressed in red and white ffs. What's more he was offering sweets to kids. He should have been arrested.
Last Christmas was a miserable one for me as I had to do a 24 hour shift. Some of it was on-call from home but my kids were elsewhere so I went into work anyway. I think I had an omelette for tea.
When I was a young man I would try to get Boxing Day off work to see the match and as a consequence would end up working Christmas Day most years. I didn't mind but it meant that my parents did not get our family all together most years on that day. I feel bad about it now - I was just being selfish wanting to watch the Rams and not wanting a boring Christmas Day. I should have thought of them more. What I wouldn't give to meet up with them again on Friday. I have tears in my eyes as I type this.
So I urge everybody to make the most of it, to bury hatchets if required, and for those of us with families to cherish the moments while they last. Happy Christmas one and all.
