I'm feeling slightly nauseous.
Not sure if it's post New Years hangover or the back slapping sycophancy following today's "results".

We're all essential cogs, Larry
I'm mean, what do you have to do to win?
Apart from putting time and effort in. Cos I can't be bothered with that.
to Vidal, worthy winner again.
Have to admit I thought the placeing's would be occupied by two new faces this year so well done 666 and Viewfrom for consistency
Great board no matter what

If a tree falls in a forest, is it Chris Cohen again?
The point is that the whole thing doesn't work without everybody chipping in, adding to the multi-hued spectrum of bants that is Derby 606. Well, apart from Larry, obviously: never heard of him. We could lose Larry.
I voted for you Larry
3rd choice, obviously.
As suspected in the beginning, without the support of the Red and Aukie blocs Iwas had no chance.
A spirit campaign did get him some deserved recognition this year but it wasn't enough.
Vidals blatant schmoozing of the aforementioned blocs over the past year is what won it.
I'm not even going to read his victory speech, my tummy is too fragile at the minute.
Harsh. Very, very harsh............

He's one of the best 606ers in Spondon.
There's always next year. I'll be targeting the 666 vote next time. A vote for substance over gobbyness could swing it for Iwas or at least get him in the top three. Ready for a real push in 2017.
I voted Iwas my number 1.
Deserved top 3 for sure.
I did think of declining the honour in the style of many admirable people. Danny Boyle turned down a knighthood offered for his role in the Olympics but he said he was just one member of the team and shouldn't be singled out. Others like David Bowie gave turned them down because they didn't really see the point. It's just tokenism: the consultant in charge of the infectious disease unit at Royal Free Hospital got a knighthood simply because of a high-profile Ebola case but nobody else who works there got anything. That unit and others around the country do the same sort of work all of the time, whether the media is in attendance or not. It's all a load of crap.
On the other hand:
IN YOUR FACES, LOSERS
Given that View has kindly set up a match thread and with 1 hour to KO, do you think we to congregate there and continue this on a single thread?
"...the consultant in charge of the infectious disease unit at Royal Free Hospital got a knighthood simply because of a high-profile Ebola case but nobody else who works there got anything..."
Surely that's the fcking point of an infectious disease unit?
I did try and rally the troops, Heb, but we require a recognised leader to direct us there....

Sound logic.
Exactly 666. It would be like giving you a knighthood for being a fatheaded buffoon. It's what you do.
Time gentlemen please. Make your way in an orderly fashion towards the Match Thread. It is clearly signposted, and no running.......
In the Army OBE's and MBE's were rarely given to the boys. Chiefly the Rodney's got them, leading the the awards being known colloquially as Other Blokes Efforts or My Blokes Efforts.
The newly adorned Rupert would normally make a quiet aside to his lads, thanking them before getting a swift cushy posting, forgetting about everyone else forever.
Did I get more votes than Wassa?
