He's got a new image as well. Pearce get ya Sen out on loan, you've been knocked down the pecking order with Shotton.

He's abit short of full fitness but it doesn't bother him, he's a footballing genius

Young Iwas just sent me the new look BUCKO photo.

Bit of the Mel Gibson about him.

Also doing his coaching badges with Kev Phillips.
Can I see a career path developing ?
Who wouldn't want him around the club, encouraging the youngsters ?

Don't think there'll be any complacency in the dressing room on Saturday with Jake about....

I have the utmost admiration for Bucko. He's far from the best player technically but right up there with the very best for attitude.
The sort of Man you need around a club like Derby.

Our team will always be better with a full-hearted Jake in it. Glad you're back Jake.

Hopefully he isn't just showing he is fit in order to be moved on. He isn't likely to get much game time unless we go on a Cup run or unless there is an injury but he is a great guy to have on the bench and in the dressing room.I would definitely keep him in the fold until the end of the season and then the whole squad will be re-evaluated no matter what division we are in.

You say he isn't the best technically but over the past couple of seasons he barely made a mistake and developed into a good footballer. He certainly succeeded in winning me over, having been a staunch critic. If he gets himself fit then Pearce can go!

If he'd been involved at the end of last season, maybe we wouldn't have seen the decline in morale, that we did ?
He made an interesting comment in his interview with Nat Jack about the management staff being better this year than last.

The Hebling leaves the island today. Amidst much wailing and gnashing of teeth we discover that Jake is returned unto us. Truly the Lord giveth and hath taken away

I thought the same thing. At least he doesn't have the turning circle of the titanic like Pearce.

The new sleek, slimline film star persona is ideally suited to the (arguably ) best passer at the club

People underestimate Buxton. A better passer of the ball than probably everybody at the club except Thorne. Surprisingly good in the air for a relatively short central defender. I also noticed that when Bucko played the opposition never dealt out so much rough treatment to Hughes. They knew they would be on the receiving end of a crunching tackle at some time if they did.

Great the way he deliberately knocked Henderson over when the ref wasn't watching or against Leeds where he ran round the penalty area during a set piece causing havoc and then casually headed in the goal.

I think supporters identify with guys like Bucko. Guys who have not been blessed with great skills or natural athleticism but can still contribute through effort and hard work.

I find it much easier to like Bucko than Ince, even when he scored that hat trick. I can't put my finger on it but there is always something about Ince's demeanour that turns fans off.

There's a lot going on in that head of his, he's a much smarter cookie than you'd expect and I hope that he sticks around, even if it's in a non-playing capacity in future. Pleased to see him doing his badges and getting back in the dressing room.

Every club needs a Bucko. For me at least, he's an ordinary bloke, he's one of us, and I live somewhat vicariously through him. I think he provides a connection between the fans and the players that most other players do not. Few things would give me greater pleasure than seeing Bucko lead us out in the Premiership, and for him to score a winner against one of the top sides. Here's hoping.

If we clinch promotion this year it would be a fairy tale if both Bucko and Keogh were on the pitch on the day it happens. Both have gone through a great deal on and off the pitch and deserve a day of glory to make up for Wembley.

Great news that Bucko is back.

What's this mean for Pearce? I noticed that Blackman made no mention of him in the list of all the Derby squad he'd previously played with. Does that mean he's leaving, Blackman forgot him, or the two of them don't get on?
