Most be cobblers, both players need guaranteed playing time.

I'd only want McGeady (as a sub) and wouldn't want Gibson.

Loving the pirate speak Marco.

"Who are those people at the bar Capn? Several of them look like shoe-repairers."

"Aye Jim lad, most be cobblers."

Careful Vidal, you'll have the Devil of Duffield over here sharpish if he thinks I'm giving away free ice cream.

I thought Scousers were more used to 999s than 99s.

The Devil of Duffield?

With a bit of geographical poetic licence, he could have been the modern day Allenton Hippo...

If we are shopping at Everton can we have their numbers 5, 10 and 20 please.

So long as we don't buy theit number 2s I am not bothered.

He's supposedly "on the move", apparently in search of a more suitable schooling environment for Lucy?

Thank god for that, I was starting to panic.

Gibson is a fat Norman Whiteside and slower than a turning oil tanker.

McGeady is the Jimmy Krankie of wingers/midfielders - I really don't think either would add a great deal to the squad.

Beside that the story is a pile of pony

Everton are not exactly "pulling-up a lot of trees" (do they ever)? So I cannot see what benefit these two would bring to our party if they can't get a look-in there.

Martin wasn't pulling up any flora at all when he was at Norwich for what it's worth. Agreed though, unless there are some outgoings both seem surplus to our requirements. I wonder whether Gibson might be a player who could be pencilled in as a possible loan option should George get crocked for the rest of the season. Maybe we have sounded out Everton along those lines rather than as a first choice. Maybe McGeady was also on a list of possible wide options before we signed Camara and Blackman.

You are thinking too sequentially, VC.
Try to be more abstract in your concepts

The point I'm trying to make Vidal (sans your elegance), is we should be looking these players as if next season in the Prem is a given, (as opposed to a maybe when we brought-in Martin, etc.).
