I'm sure we can all play with the permutaions but for me the key thing is that we now have some strength in depth to deal with a long hard season.

Mine:

Jussi
Boyata, Cahill, Wheater, Robbo
Eagles, Holden, Reo Coker, Petrov
Klasnic, N'Gog

I remember looking at the bench vs City and thinking how poor it was. Look at it now - Bogdan, Steinsson, Alonso, Muamba, Mavies, Kakuta, Tuncay

Kakuta and Tuncay have a big part to play off the bench this seaosn, for me, along with Mavies

No Ricketts, Gardner, Alonso either! I can see one major weakness and thats at left back. I know all 3 above can play there but its not great is it?!

MC, It'll be fine.

wasn't a major priority this summer as you say, we do have 3 players that can potentially play there.

By the, Boyata can play there too - he is left footed

posted on 31/8/11

Maybe, just maybe, we can prise that window open for a minute to drag a left-back through.

posted on 31/8/11

i thought Boyata was more of a right/centre back but maybe he could then. The rest of the squad is a vast improvement.
Holden the fort - that would be nice but I feel OC is tucked up with a mug of ovaltine now

If we really needed a left back, we should've gone for Ridgewell. Always rated him

posted on 31/8/11

Surely when fit Ricketts or Mears would be our number one right back with Boyata at left back (he is left footed)?

By no stretch does Klasnic deserve to be dropped this year. You can tell he has work very hard on fitness this year, and he is scoring a goal per game. Unfortunately though I can't see OC dropping SKD leaving only one man for the chop. I hope we play Klasnic-N'gog, but I don't think we will.

I got told he was left footed by many City fans. Wasn't too sure myself. I reckon Coyle knows though...

It would be ludicrous to drop Klasnic. A goal a game looking on fire at the moment. Also linking up with Petrov down the left very well.

Davies for the chop for me and N'Gog to come in and replace

TRR did you leave SKD out of your 18 man squad intentionally?

posted on 31/8/11

Good question, Heathen. TRR?

posted on 31/8/11

Er...no. Honest!!

Would still have N'Gog and Klasnic up front, but my desire for SKD to be dropped doesn't mean I don't want him on the bench.

My bad

i think coyle will rotate all 4 strikers and tuncay may get a lot of game time on the right wing. can see ngog becoming the mainstay striker and SKD and klasnic getting equal game time as the 2nd striker.
The squad seems to suit a 451/433 kind of formation tho so we'll have to see i

SKD will never be 'dropped' phasd out yes but never 'dropped'

posted on 31/8/11

Heathen. Same thing?! You aint in the starting 11, you're dropped.

At least that is how SKD will look at it

posted on 31/8/11

personally i see coyle sticking to SKD klasnic for the time being and Ngog coming on for one or the other and see how they play together.
I have previously said that artnerships of SKD/Ngog and Tuncay/Klasnic makes more sense to me as Klasnic and Ngog will both want to play in the same place. the competition upfront now is only going tobe good for the club and i hope all 4 really do fight for their place

posted on 31/8/11

I hope Coyle takes his blinkers off now.

If SKD is playing pants, drop him

posted on 31/8/11

definatly MT, and same for any other player.

posted on 31/8/11

He now has the players to allow to drop/rest SKD. Now is the right time to do it

posted on 31/8/11

when a new captain is announced then i would expect SKD to be dropped, until then, personally i expect the club captain to be starting the game

just seen Guy Demel has joined west ham. always used to sign him on Football Manager as he was brilliant on there. and Dann for 6million is a good bit of business for blackburn

posted on 31/8/11
