Wootton.
Not a right back. At right back he's a winger's dream.

Sol/Bellusci. Need a dominant general type.

Doukara/Woood. Need a goal hawk.

Imo - centre back, number 10 and a striker.

Don, spot on on the number 10.

Another striker who is capable of playing up front alone.

Two midfielders for the centre to push up and play off him

Regardless, we're not getting promoted.
But, it would be great to hang around and
threaten the play offs.

A no 10 with pace, a centre mid who can oragnise with a great engine and a striker who can play on his own.

That Donaldson we were after would have been good, someone like Blackstock or maybe even Maynard would have been good and affordable for a club like Leeds.

So looking at the team against Ipswich which 3 players need improving on?
-----
Well, which ones did he publicly mention in his interview. Silvestri, Doukara, Wooton, Bellusci and Adeyimi were players he mentioned so I'd say 3 from them.

Imagine Austin in our team now if he had bridcutt behind him.

That's your first player right there.

We need a centreback as there are just too many mistakes in our current lot.

We also need another forward.

Those would be my three.

However bridcutt and carayol are only loan signings so they either need bringing in full time or players who do what they can do need buying.

That's why you never get anywhere with loans, you always have to rebuild every few months

I imagine him saying some people played badly for one game doesn't mean he wants to replace them straight away

Defence of Scott Wootton by Evans. "Criticism is unfair. I’m not saying Scott he hasn’t made mistakes but people overlook the good stuff."

Bet Wootton feels very motivated by this.

3 very good players might make us into a side chasing playoffs.

For top 2 we are 8 or 9 very good players short.

It's not inherently about the first team but mostly about having good strength in depth

posted on 14/1/16

No, its about quality.

We had "strength in depth" last season with around 40 senior players. Unfortunately they were in large garbage players.

We need to add quality.

posted on 14/1/16

I meant quality in depth

It's alright to have a first team with 4 or 5 really good players but you need to be able to swap and change when needed

A striker. We struggle so much without Chris Wood, who isn't even a top striker in this league.

A midfielder. We're not creating enough chances, and our midfield looks weak with 3 tiny players like we had on tuesday. Bridcutt is only one making a proper contribution at the moment. Like Matty says, Austin in there would have been great...

A centreback. Bamba, Bellusci and Cooper all have mistakes in them. Someone who can strengthen that defence.

Don't know how Evans (or anyone) can defend Wootton. He's simply not a right back. Positionally
he's dire because he's a centre back. Watching SW turn and run after an attacker looks like the Titanic trying to swerve that ice berg. Evans needs
to stop peeing around and either play Sam at RB
or blood Coyle.

I've defended Wootton on here a few times. From the games I've been to, he's mostly defended okay, and I thought the criticism has been over the top. You can't expect a player to be something they're not, and he has mostly been a good performer for us although limited.

Byram should be playing there over him though absolutely, Evans is the one who keeps playing them out of position.

He was a McD signing (I think?). And I think it was Brian who first played him RB. I would hope they would give the lad a go at CB. Maddening.

i said at the beginning of the season that we needed 7 or 8 players of quality to be up there challenging.....we got 1 bridcutt, he says ipswich are the bench mark, no they're not the bench mark are derby imo who have been up there challenging for the last few seasons......of even boro

Not a right back. At right back he's a winger's dream.

---------------

Biggest load of bull I've heard, a winger dream is a right back who can't defend and bombs forward all the time.

Wootton can defend, he's just gash going forward

posted on 14/1/16

And before someone's says goals have come down that side, not as many has down the left side, and that doesn't make Taylor a defender.

Teams do score goals !!!

Defending in the centre has been the worst

you obviously don't understand the full back position.
wootton is not a full back. sure he's a nice lad. but he's
not a full back. time for that failed experiment to end.
bellusci and sol get hammered for their work. yet wootton skates? are people related to him?

posted on 14/1/16

Howson, Gradel,Johnson, Snodgrass, Kasper, Beckford, McCormack....ALL NOT REPLACED.

Thats 7 players who are pure quality.

Until we replace those players we will forever be way under the starting bar for promotion.

Adam Pope reporting we have accepted a bid from Everton for Byram,

posted on 14/1/16

Nobody is saying he's a full back.

But he's isn't a wingers dream, how many have skinned him !!

Bamba and bellusci get hammered because they cost us goals, Wootton hasn't has much by a long way
