"Shows how powerful the "mid table" teams seem to be getting with the new TV deal."

You won't really see it until the summer, but clubs are obviously worried about staying in the division to get that money.

Gnerous calling newcastle a midtable team.

anyway, its not that suprising seeing him linked with those clubs, he hasnt really been linked with any top clubs and his form this season has been OK. dont think it indicates theya re getting powerful in the slightest

But he won't go to those clubs so it doesn't show they've got that much power.

In Stoke's case, maybe even to compete in Europe (2 points behind us!). Hughes is building a very interesting team and can now offer some big cash (Shaqiri is on £70k a week, unthinkable just a couple of years ago).

Eplains why bigger clubs abroad sign their own TV deals.

OK.. Forget the word "powerful".. My bad.

Let's say they are getting more confident in their ability to get names that they would not have been able to, pre TV money

Imagine the sums United would get if clubs signed their own TV deals.

I'm happy with the way the league distribute the money... It's a pretty fair system that will lead to a very, very strong league

hes done well to get that considering he failed everywehrre he left basle.

Stoke will still be signing the reject players that the better teams dont want.

lacazette hasnt beeen great and wont go to a big team.

but he will end up at a bigger team than stoke or newcastle.

If we let Lacazette slip through our fingers to a rival this year I'll be annoyed. Bet he'll go Arsenal.

Agree. Still, if we were signing our own deals, we'd be trumping Barca and Madrid to being the richest club.

not necasrily. the league has more money than ever and the quality is as bad as its been in a long long time and its not really improving.

Little teams will now just spend more money on the same average players they always buy. just the cost will be doubled.

Regarding Lacazette, he is good on FIFA and youtube, plus his stats were great last season.

Haven't seen anything from him in the few times I've seen him player (literally abut 4 games, inc France).

Nah, smaller teams are much improved, whilst the bigger teams are much worse.

If/ when the big sides manage to get hold of some of the best players, the league will be very strong.

Unfortunately I don't know when the best are going to go anywhere but Madrid, Barca or Bayern. I guess PL clubs will have to grow their own stars.

posted on 15/1/16

That's down to mismanagement from the bigger sides.

The smaller teams are buying better quality players than they've been able to.

Well.... Yes, Hughes bought in some very skilled individuals that were failing at clubs... But has turned them around to the point where they could get a Europa spot.

So, next summer, he can target better players and not just the misfits.

Really?

Newcastle sunderland and villa are some of the worst PL teams in history. they are attrocious.

villa may welll be worse than derby.

norwich and swansea are dreadful

bournmouth you cant judge due to their entire first team missing but they are currently poor/

Can't buy the climate though unfortunately.

So they have the weather over us, and the TV rights thing.

It's not fair

I know, and theres currently a lot. even some of the mid table teams are woeful.

youve lpool sitting in 8th ffs and they are dross.

Everton with all their world beaters like stones and lukaku currently in eleventh.

the media and hype machine went into overdrive and convinced people that some rubbish teams and players were actually good and the compeititon is just strong.
