I really can't believe we spent all that money on Memphis to stick him behind Lingard and now maybe Januzaj in the pecking order. Yes he's had poor games but also some great moments and just needs a run of games and to be allowed to make mistakes.
I realise this will never happen and there is more chance of a 30 day February, but I'm starting to wonder whether we'd benefit as a team if we reverted back to a far simpler 4-4-2 or some variant of it.

No seriously, Giggs should be nowhere near the hot seat long term.
My op was advocating a temporary switch to tire us over until the summer when we can restrategise and add quality to the squad. Hopefully with somebody else in charge!

I think Depay needs to be eased into the first team as he is yet to show he can perform consistently. That might boil down to tactics, but I thought him and LVG would be a match made in heaven seems as they both have a mutual respect for one another.
Then again, when we appointed Van Gaal, I thought Van Persie would out live Rooney at Utd and look how that panned out.
You can probably see why I never start planning how I will spend my lottery winnings.
Since this appears to be the formation thread, I'd like to see something like this tomorrow:

McNair------Smalling-----Blind----BJ

Where abouts in hell are you from Pinnick? I'm up near West Notts College if that rings any bells.
I still do not understand why we do not play 433,best use of our personnel in my humble opinion
Doesn't get much more basic than get the ball and pass it which seems to be LVG's approach.
I be happy to see a 442 however after his overhaul of the squad we don't appear to have 2 proper wingers.
We had a great run with a 433 at the end of last season. Why did that change? We have the personnel to employ it.
We just don't have the players for a 442, mainly another CB or a central midfielder. Shneiderlin is one but carrick and Sweinstiger don't have the legs for it anymore. We could risk Herrera there but only if we had two quick and physically strong CBs, of which we currently only have Smalling. Maybe if jones or Rojo could stay fit it would be worth a try.
