All the rats will cowardly run away from the situation and to CL clubs if they get the chance.

Horrible decision from the club. I said before we sacked Jose the club need to look at the bigger picture and sacking him would be one sacking too far.

Hope Jose goes to United and proves all the fickle, short-memoried fans wrong. Chelsea or non-Chelsea. If we aren't in the title picture in the coming years which I suspect we won't be then I'll be routing for a Jose-led United

People are deluded, anyone who thought and still thinks sacking Jose was a good idea.

I would like to talk to you in 3 years time whilst we go back to 90s league finishes and United go back to winning back to back premier leagues

Gutted if he goes there but absolutely won't dislike him, just feel more plssed off with our disastrous board of ldiots

16 major trophies in 12 years. 3 PL titles in 5 and a bit seasons in England.

Nobody, other than Fergie, is more deserving of the job. Very excited if we get him.

I think the Empire is about to strike back.

Perversely I thought the club would keep him because this season had been so horrible - ie top 4 was out of the question - that whoever managed you for the rest of it would make no real difference (CL excepted obviously).

I'd have kept him, but there did seem to be something badly wrong this season with him/the team, and he showed no signs of bringing it round, so I can see why it happened.

So can I, completely justifiable decision based on current events. But the point of the people who make these pivotal decisions is too properly think it through and elevate what's best for the club short and long term.

And unless we hit that top 4 objective, or win the CL again, it will immediately be rendered a poor short term call. Simply an unavoidable fact.

You are the ones saying it was all Mourinho's fault.

I like most other logical fans accept it was partly Mourinho's fault, but the board and the players also played a major part in the season's failure.

It is your hatred for one man which is causing your deluded opinion.

^ I love Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Well, the TV show anyway...

This article is pathetic. It contradicts itself. jose was not obsessed and devoted to Chelsea it was a marriage of convenience, One that ultimately said, "Jose you bring loads of baggage and negative aspects, plus the most dim-witted opinions of our fans, but you get trophies."

Results are all he ever based himself on and he wasnt delivering. and as he is such a negative aspect in every other way, i dont think he has a leg to stand on

He loved us so much he took a big pay and went to man utd. Well done.

He dug his own grave at chelsea with his poor football, poor results and pathetic actions and performances on and off the pitch.

I wouldnt play for a joker like that.

good riddance.

lets get a proper manager in.

honestly pathetic fans. i am ashamed to support chelsea when i see such oafish points of view.

as for where would he be if we kept him, in the relegation zone probably,

and frankly our best ever seasons under RA were 2010 and 2012. Jose was nowhere near the dugout for us either time.

er.... no . Quite wrong actually. Loved him while he was Chelsea , (both times) but he's not any longer Chelsea. I wanted him to stay till end of season and said so. But he's gone and I support the decision of the board and folks on the spot/in the know who i see now made a difficult but probably correct decision. Every other manager takes responsibility for the form of the team. BUT in the heads of some of our supporters JM is somehow exempted/absolved for the demise of our beloved team. No hate whatsoever, and why would one hate for sport anyway? Its not WWF or is it?

Npe, you keep telling yourself that he is the one responsible for bringing the club down

His record , the circumstances, and our clubs track record easily indicate that the club and players are every bit as responsible,

The vast majority of fans can see the bigger picture, but you make yourself sound like a fool and every time you spout your stupid diatribe its evident how personal it is for you, sad really.

Tway ?

Mate your just out there

I still feel that until Manc unt officially announce his position its definitely not a done deal, he carries baggage and I'm sure he is not there first choice, but definitely a serious candidate.

Since this is on the Chelsea board, I wanted to put it out there, that this Jose business is a bunch of crap You don't like us, we don't like you. I didn't care at all for Jose when he was your boss, although I liked Carlo, and Hiddink of course. This is bad blood if Jose goes to United, not an "interesting football rivalry" thing. What do you Chelsea think about this IF it happens. The same as I couldn't accept Wenger at United. I have respect, but no love for the opposing teams, and to me Jose at United is the worst thing that could happen to our rivalry. How can our supporters drool all over this rumour? This is just how we get tagged as "plastics". I don't think any real Manchester United supporter even wants this. Have a laugh.

I'm under no illusions that the most important thing to Jose Mourinho is Jose Mourinho. But if you think he didn't care about us at all you're fooling yourself.

Sneijder once went on record talking about how Jose wouldn't shut up about us while he was at Inter. The way he talks about us in the press when managing another club is laden with emotion - from speaking in compliantly, heartfelt terms to wanting to, and I quote, "kill us". In 2013, he could've taken the United job (a job it's clear he wants on his CV), but he shunned them for us.

Just my opinion, but I don't think money is his priority, legacy is. After United, if he manages Portugal he'll have followed the exist career path he set himself over 10 years ago. If one day he's referred too as one of the greatest managers of all time, he'll gain more value from that as a retired man than being a billionaire having managed some Chinese club
