In fairness depay wasnt the only one guilty of giving the ball away in that second half. He needs to get a grip though if he wants to remain at the club.

the really shocking thing there is the way he dawdles back to defend, total lack of effort....mata, who is much slower than him, and had played the full 90 minutes, bust more of a gut to get back...depay doesn't once get into a position to defend, he is always behind the ball...and that is criminal.
I'm still trying to figure out any logical reason LVG had for subbing on Memphis. His substitutions have been mind-boggling at times. Can anyone think of the strategy for this sub? Also, Leave on Fellaiani for his physicality against Chelsea, who so very often are most dangerous after the 85th minute. Does LVG ever watch any PL footie matches? This is amateur hour stuff.
I guess with Chelsea chasing an equaliser he hoped that Depay could take advantage of the space. And to be fair it worked, except Depay played an awful pass. We actually had a great chance to finish the game and instead they ended up equalising. Had Depay helped us score a winner than we would have been hailing the substitution.
Had written months ago the guy was a total waste of time and should be first offloaded next season.
A 2nd season to acclimatise is not needed when the lack of effort is so evident. Readily admitted he was nearly a stone overweight compared to his dutch weight and sadly is not a patch on tony v ,nani and lingard. Januzaj right behind him out the door.
I still think it is too soon to write both him and Adnan off. They are still young and players mature at different ages. Both need to make a step up though.

Definitely too early. I am certain Januzaj will go on to be a very good player and I sincerely hope it's with us. As for Memphis, he deserves another season in what will hopefully be a more coherent attacking side.

I was explaining to Redd Rags why LVG brought Depay on, not defending the player.

CBJ is doing much better than Memphis
----------------------------------------------------------------------
To be fair, that is the right car for a teenager
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The club offered him a choice between Chevrolet's top-of-the-range model or a used Vauxhall Corsa.
Easiest decision he's ever made.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If that really is his car, he's my new favourite player.
What really happened today is that Man. Utd. took a page from the Arsene Wenger play book. They scored a spectacular goal to take the lead and then, instead of trying to put the game away, they went on the defensive for the last 30 - 35 minutes of the game.
The blame probably lies at LVG's doorstep?

The flip side of that is that we sat back and tried to hurt Chelsea on the break as they came looking for an equaliser. Which we might well have done had Depay not played such a terrible pass.
We fade in most games.
Hafi will back that one up !
The subs cost us the game I reckon. Fellaini had a decent game and actually is good when you want to keep hold of the ball. Also he knows Memphis doesn't track back.
Again I would also criticise MS, why was he so far advanced at that point of the game and even then on the goal he is in the wrong position. He was partly t blame for the late goal at Newcastle and Derby's goal too. He is not quite good enough for us imo.
