Hindsight is often full of delusion. Weren't they down 2 divisions within a couple of years?
Some top players and some good ones on the bench, remember not long ago Eddie was asked who the best player was he coached from that side he mentioned Ferdinand, Kewell, Woodgate and Smith but said on his day no one was better than big Viduka.
That probably why he stated the CL side and not the side that went down to L2....
Good lord.
Wayne, seem to remember a team getting relegated only six years after winning the European Cup though there's an argument that the two best teams in Europe at the time contested that years fairs cup, anyway haven't you got a big game to watch.
I think we lacked a couple of winners. Players like Batty who had done it before.
Having said that, so do Leicester and look at them.
I think that team would win this league
I think there were players in it who are quite frankly much better than anything playing in the league today.
Case in point, Nigel Martyn would hands down be the best keeper in the league i he was playing at his best today
Agree about Martyn, best keeper I've ever seen by a mile, just every aspect of his game and way better than Hart.
Ferdinand, Woodgate, Radebe - best centre backs I've ever seen too, good with their feed, phenomenal in the air.
good with their feed,
------------------------------
Didn't know you swung that way
Bowyer, Dacourt and Batty would bully midfields today. As long as they could stay on the pitch for 90 minutes
Good with their feet could be a euphemism too if you're that way inclined.
Rob
Yeah all 3 would be always suspended these days.
