If Arsenal board had any balls, they should have gone for Pep Guardiola while he was still 'free'.
Klopps the natural choice.....oh wait!
There are and always have been at any given time, at least a dozen managers in Europe with vastly superior tactical nous and transfer policy. The bigger issue is that the current ideology at the club runs further than Wenger... Future managers will have to deal with the legacy (negative sense) of Wenger's philosophy as it is music to the board's ears.

If we wanted Kloop he's come in...in drop of the hat..but we don't.
Yeah, a lot of the more obvious candidates over the past few years have either been taken (Guardiola, Klopp, Conte, Ancelotti) or are seemingly unavailable (Simeone and Blanc, for example).
We might have to take a risk on a talented yet slightly less proven manager, like Tuchel, Emery or Sampaoli.
Obviously, there are risks involved in any appointment, and it's not guaranteed that the aforementioned names would want to come (although I find it hard to believe that the latter two couldn't be swayed), but I'd be happy if we secured the services of any of those 3.
I think Rudi Garcia is also worth a mention, even if his last season at Roma was a bit disappointing.
If they went for someone like Simeone, how long would it take them to change styles? Who ever it is, Arsenal players will be in for a massive shock, how easy they get it under Wenger is unreal.
Their kids on just as much as their top earners etc all quite close, taking selfies after winning games, messing about having what seems like too much fun etc, you'd think they were barca winning everything the way they act at times.

Pulis may come if you offered a big enough package.
Tuchel has to be the favorite
True, Wenger's lack of discipline on and off field has cost Arsenal big time. I personally would not be worried about player snot being able to adapt to new manager..those players will be most likely the ones who have got free ride under Wenger's socialist structure.
Just like Wenger came in and changed the game with fresh approach, the time has changed and his approach is stale now..The teams now days are much more strict, disciplined..just an evolution from his old philosophy tbh. Unfortunately, the man refused to change and in process is holding the club back.

It is, most potential new managers will walk into Arsenal and think well this is gna have to change, spoilt kids, need to put in some hard work and show discipline etc. How Arsenal players will react to what would be a massive shock in changes will be interesting to see, most of them will quit or get shipped out i imagine, enjoying easy ride for far too long under Wenger.
That team talk between themselves was interesting as today Gabriel and Mertz were getting stuck in, Gabriel went OTT at times, but still wonder what was said, stop being a pair of p*ssies?

As a neutral, think you could do a lot worse than take a chance on a very talented young English manager ... Eddie Howe anyone?
Guardiola or Pep WOULD have been perfect for Arsenal ... have said so on here for quite a while. Those ships have sailed though.

Eddie Howe's a great manager - but I think it's too big a leap for him, and I'd worry he may not have the pull to attract world-class players or command the respect of some of the current crop.
I appreciate the names I mentioned aren't exactly household, but I think Tuchel has already built quite a reputation over the course of this season at Dormund, Sampaoli has won the Copa America with Chile, and Emery has won the Europa League twice.
In a few years, I think Howe could be seen as a world-class manager - if he continues to improve Bournemouth the way he has done - but I'm not sure he should be looking to make the switch too soon.

Gabriel has has always had that nature to his game. Unfortunately, for him he needs a better manager to polish him, same with many players at Arsenal. Players having teamtalk has always made a difference worryingly enough. It happened in the past when players themself analyzed the opponent and set up for counter. Thereafter it's success, Wenger finally listened to the what everyone was saying..and actually got some results.
The game seem to have evolved past Wenger, with easy changes he could have gone with his head held high but it's a shame he did not adapt his game and in process is suffering for it. As for the players..there is potential there just need the right manager and one or two addition to inject some new vigor and approach.
Howe sets his team up to play the right way hes done extremely well, so happy for him as hes a nice guy too. What hes done for Bournemouth he should have a job for life with them now, thats how good hes been.
Love to see him continue to do well keeping Bournemouth up for another season or two will be great for them with the money they'll be receiving they will surely sort out their stadium. Maybe he will get some money to strengthen too, then see how he does.
Think its too early for him to move on from a good thing hes got going on at Bournemouth and at 38 he shouldn't be in a rush to either.
