By the way, when I made my selection I thought the O'Neill was Martin, it turns out, the O'neill in the betting site list is Michael; and the Clarke is Steve.

Which made me think; A Martin and Michael O'Neill combo would work; as would a Frank Clark and Steve Clarke pairing.

just fyi...Michael O'Neill has just signed a new deal with NI, to buy his release is set at £750,000.

Our tom fool of an owner needs to consider just how many two year contracts he intends to write, only to sack the incumbent 10 months into it and how detrimental to our F.F.P position that is.

Who from that list has a track record of at least initially being prepared to put up with a nutter?

That puts Holloway top of the list!

Zola is a nutter as well, so they might well get on …..for a bit.

I would imagine the quality/calibre of manager we will be.able to attract will depend on our status regarding FFP, if we exit FFP the chances will increase substantially, if we remain in FFP, again our hands will be tied. The next question is of course, when do the club find out the result of our embargo? We have already been hammered by FFP and should it take another 3 months to learn the decision, we will be miles behind everyone else in planning for the new season, and will more than likely have to pay over the odds for players because of the time span. The club need to know soonest.

Our owner doesn't make friends within English Football though does he?

I get the feeling we're waiting for someone to finish the season with their current club, so that rules out anyone out of work if I'm right. (I'm usually not though!)

I think you could be right, FAlF.

It'll be Nigel.

If we are waiting for someone to finish the season (contract), why didn't we wait to let DF go?

Very likely, IMO. But I quite like thinking that it could also be MON, after he's finished with the Euro's. If, IF, there was a possibility of this, do you reckon Keane would come as well?

MoN won't be so daft. He wouldn't be able to work for a control freak. Keane would set his dogs loose on Fawaz too!

To answer redfor50yrs question

Would want.....

Rodgers
Pearson

They both have records that prove they can get teams promoted and keep them there

Would not want

Clough, Clement, Powell, Zola, Lennon and Keane

As i associate all with failure, one or two may have had some success early in their career but this is probably a product of circumstances and dispite them not because of them

First of all let me say that we need a Manager rather than a coach. So Clement and Steve Clarke are out even though I think they are good coaches.

Rodgers and Pearson would come into the reckoning, but I think Rodgers probably wants Prem League (Swansea?) and Pearson would want to bring in his backroom team Walsh and Shakespeare (I think) from Leicester who I'm sure would give up the chance of Champions League to come here

O'Neil is the dream and really is the only person that will cause excitement at the club again. However, if Fawaz wants a full stadium again and people being excited to watch Forest again then this is the appointment to make, even though I think he would be crazy to accept.

Clough would postpone it. i wouldn't be against his appointment as it is the safe option and he will do his best but I can't see him performing better then Dougie.

Rodgers and Pearson would be good but I cannot see it happening.

If it is Ivanokovic then I think protests will soon follow against Fawaz as it would be a suicidal appointment at a time when the club is teetering on the edge with the relationship between fans and owner.

Fawaz will realise as well the above when April starts as i do not know one person yet who has said they are renewing their season ticket until they know who the manager is.

Can't argue with any of that Super. I think we are all dreaming if we think Martin O'Neil would leave his cushy international job to join this mad house though. But stranger things have happened. More likely is Fawaz will appoint Ian Holloway!

Can't stand holloway.

Just have a feeling Fawaz is going to completely blow it though and bring someone with no experience in.

I know it is difficult but there are still managers out there who would like to have a chance at the job.

With Pearson and O'Neil at least ask and then let the media know so you can placate the fans.

I have a horrible feeling Fawaz will being a puppet in who he will be in full control of. DF was the latest in a long line who found it impossible to work under him and it seems clear to me he finally lost his rag and was sacked as a result.

It worries me will but you are probably right as he sacked Dougie for telling it how it is. He is completely clueless and if he does a appoint a "yes man " manager then I think he will not long be the owner with the protests that will follow as to the running of the club.

What a sad situation
