Agreed to a certain extent however the bigger clubs in Chelsea, United and Arsenal were also much much better than they are now.
No offence but IMO the United 2007-2009 team or 1999-2001 team
The Chelsea 2005-2007 team or 2010-2011
The Arsenal 1996-1999 or 2002-2004 team would absolutely wipe the floor with the current sides.
Better players are now spread across all the teams which is good for the league however as much as the lesser clubs have improved the bigger clubs most definitely have declined. You only have to look at the players past compared to the current ones for them respective clubs.
Oh p.s I really hope you win it.
The only way for Bundesliga and La Liga to be as high a standard as the Prem is for Barca/Real/Bayern/Dortmund etc to deliberately get worse. Because worse is better.
If Man Utd and Chelsea suddenly became as good as Barca/Real, and consequently were 10 points ahead of the rest, and winning the CL every other year then we would say the Prem is awful? Or would we say obviously the prem is the best, look at how our top teams are doing in Europe. Or is it just no matter what, the prem is the best, just because?
The Premiership is definitely more competitive and I think that makes for a more exciting league. The precession that is the Scottish Premiership makes it pretty dull no?
The top teams in Spain and Germany are now better, and potentially Italy too, but it does come
And go in waves. Liverpool and Utd had a spell, Spain dominated and now it's a bit of a mix.
I'm sure one of the English big boys will come good and start challenging again soon.

I wouldn't disagree with that but the difference for me was those teams also played like teams, round pegs in round holes, each player in their best position giving 100% for their teammates and managers, who commanded respect and that's what's more important in my opinion.
Fergie and Mourinho at the time just had players willing to run through walls and I think a lot of it was due to the fact that they had a lot of English players. United definitely had better players back then but Chelsea still have a very good squad in terms of quality but there's no Englishness about them. Leicester and Spurs have an English core and we're the two best teams in the league. I know Arsnenal still have Wenger but he's not the same as he was a decade or two ago, his passion seems to have gone but again they had an English core.
Am I making more out of that than I should?
You've got to try and wean yourself off that Spurs board, arro...
I think there are different ways in which you can define the quality of a league. The top teams in Germany, Spain or Italy are above the top teams in the Premier League. However, the lower teams in the Premier League are (probably) above the bottom teams in those leagues. So take your definition of quality as you will.

I was looking through the PL boards and didn't realise it was on the Spurs board until I'd written it and tried to post and couldnt and then wasnt about to waste my time so i created my own article 😉
Wouldn't worry about Spurs fans. Think it's North London fans in general that are utter clowns. We've had it for years from the MANY clown Arsenal fans. I've noticed since Spurs became a decent side and gave a decent chance to win the league then they are exactly the same.
All their players are great and everybody else is poor blah blah. Utter drivel most of it.

My old man has been saying for years how bad the Spurs fans are. He's worked down the City since 1971 so has experience of pretty much every fan and has always said the Spurs fans are horrible and think they're better than they are. This season I have come to understand exactly what he means and know why he hates them so much.
He's always said he never has problems with United fans and they're a decent bunch and I agree 👍

The league quality wise is shocking. Every team Man Utd play struggle to retain the ball against us and thats with our passing being poor as well I think quality wise this has to be the worst premierleague season yet.
