Is that legend or more like leg end Lanza?

Here in the Great Northwest at about midnight UK time, there are comments by DF on on the Rovers website, but no interview on Player. Is he so embarrassed, or is there time delay to doctor his comments?
NY. I'm not sure where you were going with "leg end" as when I worked for an Irish company it was all about if you got a "leg over" - I do not think we should go there!

I have a funny feeling that the corner is in front of us and we are now about to turn it.

Mickey

A legend is someone like Johan Cruyff, a leg end using the same letters but separating them into two words, is not the same but not what you were thinking.

He's there now Micky - the website admin staff are very poor. I've complained about the press getting the stuff before those who subscribe to Player, but the people who followed Steve Uttley just don't care. They don't even reply to queries; they are too busy filling in applications for "Awards".

Everyone is "Award-winning" now - it's part of the currency of modern business.

Having listened to the interview on Player DF was challenged on letting experienced players go and showed his usual patient honest responses to the awkward questions he got.

He said Rob Jones was never fit (and is again injured at Hartlepool the last time I looked) and that Wellens did not want to stay.

His reaction to McCullough not getting a game with NI typifies his maturity in the way he deals with questions. Far from showing "fury" which was the word the press used, he explained what he had understood from the NI manager. What had happened was "interesting" and added that he would have to talk to O'Neill again about it.

It is very refreshing to listen to a football manager with such integrity. I suppose SOD had it, but most don't show it a great deal.

I would rather him be an awkward so n so and have had 23points from the last 39 instead of the grand total of 3

Watching the interviews today, I was very impressed with Matthews' attitude and the fact that he is here to win and not just get games.

He kept stressing that he wants to help get us out of the relegation zone, but that if it doesn't happen, we won't be able to say " well his heart wasn't in it".

Like Donaldo I also felt that where we are is hurting Ferguson as much as it is us supporters. Whatever happens I hope he gets a similar length of time to get things right as did SoD and Dickov.

In retrospect I would like to know where we would be if Saunders had not gone to Wolves and stayed with us.

Another comment from a Posh fan on the vsc forum, this time after the most recent game. It doesn't give you much confidence, although I think Fergie has changed since he was their manager.

"Just wanted to touch bases regarding Ferguson.
As you all may know, we were promoted 3 times under DF, playing some of the best football we have ever seen at London Road. We were known across the country for our attacking football and for scoring a shed load of goals.
During his time here, Ferguson went from hero to villain, and by the time he left, even his biggest fans were against him.
There were a number of reasons for his success and failure as our manager.
Firstly, he gained his success with a team that the majority of the lower league feared. He also inherited the best players from previous managers. Craig Mackail Smith, George Boyd and Aaron McLean were all signed before Ferguson arrived. Ryan Bennett also signed permanently while Ferguson was manager of Preston, and Lee Tomlin also signed while Ferguson was at Preston.
So, he was very fortunate to have these players at his disposal. He did make some good signing (Gayle, Assombalonga), however, they cost the best part of £2m between them. As fans, I think we all felt that Ferguson was pretty inept without money, which was proved right when he moved to Preston and failed.
When we got on a run of form, Ferguson was actually a very good manager, however the major concern was whenever we were in port form, he didn't have the technical know how to change things.
He insisted on the same formation (diamond), despite it clearly not working and was far too stubborn to change. Even when it was clear that we were being out played and out though, he persisted with the formation.
Another thing he has never been good at is substitutions. He always seemed to either leave it too late, or make strange substitutions and playing players out of position.
He was also against blaming himself for his failings. If we lost, it was someone else's problem, whether that was the players or the referee. He never, ever pointed the finger at himself.
It is interesting to see that in terms of results, you have seen both ends of the spectrum. Winning 4 or 5 on the bounce and looking unplayable at times, to losing 7 (?) on the bounce and looking in serious danger of going down.
It was obvious that if we had stuck with DF last season we would have been relegated, with arguably one of the best squads in the division.
Is it deja vu at Doncaster, or has he changed his ways and its the players faults?
I hope you survive this season, as as much as it would be satisfying seeing DF get relegated, you're a great little club and have always enjoyed my trips to Donny."

Interesting what the Posh fan says Pirate.
Most of is still happening with us.
Also, I agree with Lanza about preferring the points instead of a nice interview or two.
In fact I have to chuckle to myself reading that it is nice to have a manager who does an articulate interview when clearly the results are c rap.
I read today that apparently Fergie and Keegan had a fall out at Scunny after the recent game.
Apparently Keegs isn't afraid to voice his opinion and it is worth noting that Keegan hasn't played a single minute since that night.
Shades of the Butler scenario?
I don't understand this DF reluctance to have strong characters in the dressing room.
Keegan is certainly going to go the way if Jones and Wellens.
Anyway, once again a game beckons and our hopes escalate again.
I do hope that somehow we can get a win and give ourselves an outside chance if staying up.
It seems now that we will need to win four of the last seven games to achieve the goal but I honestly don't think we can do it.
I would love to be proven wrong.

Club Doncaster = mediocrity = average players = average managers = average teams = average crowds. a true recipe for a none achievers get together. To please a few at the cost of the majority. IT DON'T WORK WAKE UP !!!!!!!!!!!

Lanza, you might have missed the point i was making about Keegan.
What i meant was that Keegan had words with DF and hasn't played since.
Butler had had a fall out with Fergie at half time and was subbed and was then left out for 4 games.
The point is that DF apparently won't have players voicing opinions which contradict his own.

I have been in changing rooms when there have been blazing rows at half time if things had been going wrong but they sorted the problems out and we got on with it.
Fergie doesn't seem to like that and won't have players who may want to make a suggestion about why things are not working.
