Say, nzl lose by 30 runs they will finish with NRR of approx +0.4 which means Pakistan need to increase their NRR by 1.2 , if u divide 9(total number of games)/1.2 , its results in 7.5, hence if Bangladesh scores 150, Pakistan would have to score inside 15 overs to qualify.

Lets put it this way, regardless of whatever margin nzl loses to england, Pakistan still has to produce one of their biggest wins in recent times to play in semis

If NZ dont beat England then we are out. It's as simple as that.

Previously, when 2 teams were level on points, they checked their head to head in same tournament before checking NRR to determine who will proceed next stage.Example, 99 WC semis tied match , Aus went to final because they defeated SA in previous game. If former is the case, defeating Bangla will be suffice.

We won the hearts this tournament

We did as well as we could've done after dropping points against WI. That game against WI killed us. Like dropping 3 points (1 point for RR).

I think overall we've gone as far as most expected. Let's not forget how poor this Pakistan ODI side is. There was a time when it looked like we were going to have to play qualifiers to get to the WC. We are ranked 6th and haven't won an ODI series since beating Zimbabwe a year ago.

Let's beat Bangladesh and finish on a high.

we got probably as far as most thought we would, 5th/6th when we came in form wise probably thinking about fighting with afg for the wooden spoon, need to build on this if we can, make sure all the deadwood is cleared hafeez/shoaib etc and build the team around babar/amir/shaheen etc

think players like fakhar/imam/safraz need to be seriously looked at as well as they have been average for a while now, psl has been going on for a few years now and the whole point of that was to try get players coming through to unseat the old guard but doesn't seem to be happening

5 dropped catches vs Aussies - allowed them extra 100 runs

7 dropped catches vs South Africa - we should have wrapped that game up with a wider victory margin

Hafeez losing the plot with the bat

Malik in team - effectively playing with 10 men

Afghan game - 71/1 and played some stupid shots - another game we should have wrapped up earlier


If we were more clinical, we’d be going into this last game still having a realistic chance of progressing because the NRR would be a lot closer. IFS and BUTS

Ps - am still going to the game tomorrow
