Leedsforever is an ironic name then?
Don't care who the manager is, won't stop supporting.
I didn't say I stopped supporting, I said stopped following, meaning I stopped paying attention to the same season that had already happened five years in a row

As if any manager will last 2 years with the current owner
The appointment of Garry Monk is the only thing I can safely say we've all agreed on lately. We're going into the season with a bit of confidence now.
Shaun, I agree on the last sentence. Not sure the first part is universally accepted. Most think like you (and me). I still think one or two are underwhelmed.
And that confidence would be underpinned by keeping Cook and Taylor and getting some in some players with the sort of quality that they go straight into the starting line up.That's the crux for our season I feel as with most sides.

That's a bold statement considering the kind of stuff I've been known to post.
Never seen you before
Was you under different name before
monk looks a good appointment, but being confident about the coming season i can't be, cos we've brought no one, & the biggest factor is cellino is still here...
How correct is the original poster? He's bang on! Some folk in here like to think that they are brilliant at predicting the outcome of anything such as new players and a different manager. They do it under the guise of 'It will never be successful, but I hope I am wrong'. Cowardly words from the same posters. Amongst the posts of those doom-mongerers I have found the worst articles ever written in here, know-all, know-nothings.
So it would be nice if (as the OP states) that we can get behind the manager and the team and give them some time to see if they can work it out before the boring b'stards on here start putting their Judas mask back on.

Claptrap!
Most negative posters on here are anti Cellino and GFH and not much else.
Yes Evans took some stick but he deserved it for the way he treat certain players after bad losses and never took any blame himself (or the other SE kept mentioning).
I will get behind Monk but still won't put any more money Cellino's way. That's my choice and nothing to do with anyone else.

The op said he stopped following the club last year
It's so ironic and two faced
Most every fan gets behind the manager once appointed whether they like them or not.
It's very rare though to see fans who decide to withdraw their support when the going gets tough.
Very ironic that someone like that decides to criticise those who keep supporting Leeds despite having an owner who drags the club through the mire.
Here's you getting behind Mr Monk since his appointment Jonty love
"Monk is an idiot and desperate for taking this job".
That nugget was on LIW'S post 'Cellino isn't selling anytime soon'
Who needs follk like you supporting them...?
Eh...?
It's very rare though to see fans who decide to withdraw their support when the going gets tough.
What you mean like you. You've not been to a game for about three years. They must really play a lot of tennis round your way...!
You started supporting Leeds when they were a success, you have lived near Watford all your life, soon as they get into a bit of bother you started supporting over the internet...?
Laughable.
tbh by stop following Leeds I think he meant searching out every bit of news and coming to places like here for snippits of info. If that is the case I was in the same boat this last year.
I still listened to every game after this and attended my seasonal two games before. Whether I'll be going to two games this coming season depends on the actions of the club in the coming months

You have a point there Eric
Batty, Monk is an idiot for taking a job with Cellino, doesn't mean I won't support him, but unlike yourself and others I'm not going to stick my head in the sand as to what it is like having Cellino here.
We all know he treats people atrociously, in faceted club pays handsomely for all the awful ways he's treated staff. just because Monk may or may not be a decent manager, doesn't mean that he's not stupid for choosing to work for a known abusive cretin.
I think "idiot" is a bit harsh.
Naïve or polyannic may be better.
Many people make the mistake of thinking others got treated a certain way because they did not know how to handle the other person, but they will be different so will not get treated similarly.
Let's hope he does better but it's unlikely.
I don't think any of us are privy to Monk's thought process, maybe we should wait until he proves himself an idiot before declaring it as fact.
Maybe Leeds is Monk's stopgap.
Fair points Jonny and sol, but you get my point, which was what Jonny was getting at, they accept the job, not under duress, knowing that it will end one way.
Do do you support Monk or not Jonty?
"Jonny was getting at, they accept the job, not under duress, knowing that it will end one way."
Actually no, what I am getting at is that "they," in this case Garry Monk, think they are different. By way of example, perhaps, they wont speak publicly or conflict with the Big C and thus by showing the respect they believe he is due, he will leave them to get on with the job. My point is ultimately, the Big C will treat everybody as poorly as he has treated everybody else.
