Sturridge wouldn't be a surprise.
If Giroud is still our first choice striker on 1st September I wont be making the same level of effort as normal to watch all our games.
Sofiane Boufal seems a prospect.
Can see it most likely being Giroud as our main striker again. Wenger may buy a striker but could be a late panic, someone who's not even upgrade on Giroud. Or he'll spend big money elsewhere.
The fact he went for Vardy seemed he was a bit desperate already. We either don't want to spend much more than 20m on a forward, or we know we can't get much better than Vardy. Because if we could, why bid for Vardy at all?
Vardy is a good player, but he's had one good season and is 29. Seems a bit of a last resort option
I think that for me the most worrying thing about this all is that we have to assume that Vardy was Wenger's primary striking target.
There is no way anything to suggest that any future targets will be an improvement on Vardy and therefore, by association, Giroud.
Expect a circa £18m bid for Jordan Rhodes before the summer is out...
Next season is going to be fun if we do fail to upgrade on Giroud
