Not good enough for the PL, but a year of first team football could be just what he needs to press on. He is still young so with the right opportunity, who knows.

Was loan out to Hull City last season. Played occasionally. I think he has potential.

Championship level player. Should enjoy a good career at Newcastle.

Still waiting for Wengz to bring at least 1 truly special player through the academy to the first 11. That means strength and fitness also.

Ashley Cole

Well there's 1 but I believe Ashley was on his way through before Wenger.

Love Ashley Cole always being brought up whenever Arsene's success rate of bringing top class Academy talent through is concerned.

Truth is (and it is the truth) Cole as a youth player was not a product of the Wenger era. In fact it is well known in football circles that Cole was on the brink of being sold to Palace by Wenger. It was only due to Sylvinho's *ahem* 'passport issues' that this didn't happen.

This was of course during the period when Wenger still had the knack at unearthing unknown gems. But for that, more would probably be made of us almost losing out on Cole.

It's not really Wenger's job to take 9 year olds and develop them into 18 year olds ready for the first team though.

Nor should it be his job to sort out catering contracts. But apparently he involves himself in stuff like that too.
