Kudos to the locals though for playing 'Steve Bloomers Watching'.

Moj, fair play for making the effort to attend

I watched/listened to it on my laptop. Must admit it didn't look pretty and we looked to be totally outplayed/classed.

Might be a blessing though.... Could be a real kick up the backside that the players need and an eye-opener for the management team?

Cheers Baz. Apparently I was on the telly at half-time, ha!

We looked seriously outplayed. Lets hope it does give them that kick up the backside.

There was a great showing from the Derby fans, with a swathe of flags around the stadium.

Never read too much into pre-season friendlies, I've seen Derby win every one & get relegated by the end of the season!

Be grateful Benfica didn't play their first team !!

...I like it.: whilst I couldn't stand him at Leicester, he was, personally, my no.1 choice for manager.

Clough would have blamed it on the players, or the weather, or anyone but his (clueless) self. McClaten would have 'taken the positives' from it. NP basically said that wasn't good enough, grow a pair, man-up, fight, battle, and you might deserve something.

Nice to see

Other than for bonding purposes it is hard to see how playing early season friendlies in hot countries is of any benefit. We are unlikely to meet any of the weather conditions, types of pitch or style of play in the Championship.

No harm in a good walloping early doors.

What's pee's me off is the players ever talking.

Shut the feck up, you talk rubbish most of the time, try doing your job for a change instead of telling us what you hope to do.

Throw a few slaps Nigel.

I work in Walsall and I have done my best to prepare the town for the arrival of the Mighty Rams.
I was at the Bank's Stadium two weeks ago and the pitch wasn't looking great. You could still see the sowing lines and the turf was quite patchy.
Not an ideal surface then for two of our players who have recently had CL injuries.
From Benfica to Walsall inside of a week. I'm here to tell you that walking into the night air in Walsall is no picnic.
Before you ask, no, there aren't any nice boozers near the ground. Maybe the Pitch or the Black Country Arms in the Town Centre, but that is at least 2 miles from the ground.

Isn't it called the Bescot stadium anymore? Good little ground. Done a couple of gigs in the function room there.

Walsall's ground is in the list of the ten worst grounds in England. More of an extension of the M6 than a stadium. They like their pillars in the west Midlands apparently.

When I was a student, my car was nicked and found burnt out on the car park of the Bescot, with all my work in the boot.....

Walsall is twinned with Chernobyl.

Bit harsh Rubery. The ground had more character when it was Fellows Park.
I was there Easter Monday 1986 aged 13 when Ross McLaren scored a late equaliser to make it 1-1.
Graham Richards commentary was 'The ball would have ended up in Bloxwich if there hadn't been a net in the way'. Classic

Just like to say what an amazing trip and great to see so many Rams fans out there, great turnout. Regarding both games, we didn't bother going to the Friday night game because it was on TV over there. But it was great to see our up and coming youngsters come through the ranks, great future for a lot of our younger players.
Now Saturday's game, great turnout by the home fans and some brilliant banter by all concerned. The referee was a bit bias but, in saying that we were second best all over the park and that's understandable really. Buxton should've been sent off, cause he was the last man. But in saying that, it was only a friendly. Well played referee
We got told shackell had a knock, also karma.
Keogh was being rested and stayed back in Derby, along side Hendrick.
Now my rant, why Derby county did not lay on a couple of coaches for a lot of stranded Derby County fans is beyond me. We had to get a taxi to the train station, then we had to get a coach back the way we came to go to the ground, ridiculous really.
We didn't get home until after one in the morning because we were waiting for a coach for 45 minutes outside the ground.
There was also a lot of young Rams fans there who were tired and just wanted to go home.
My last rant is when only two players came over to applaud us Derby County fans for making the trip. thanks a lot Just to say Backo we are doing a coach to Walsall on Saturday

Thats a bit $hi te with the coach Wassa.
I ended up with all the benfica fans! Oh how they laughed as I had my head in my hands. Mrs. moj speaks a bit of Portuguese and they were all calling Martin a clown for falling over. He did manage to get two free kicks in the first few minutes of his introduction though, so at least he had an effect!
