really hope we don't sell pritchard. don't see the point. clearly talented, and won't get much for him anyway as he's not really very proven.

I watch a lot of French football and Marseille are actually my team. I'd say N'Koudou is the 5th best player in the league. Gonna be a big miss for us.

really carrot, you rate him? what sort of play is he, who is he like already in the pl? cheers mate

Bizarre signing if it happens another punt by Mitchell and co he needs to hope the signing comes off because by all accounts he is under pressure.

N'Jie is off because he is really struggling in training. Was never ever gonna make it for us. awful positioning, bad reading of the game the only attribute he ever had was pace. Large waste of money sadly.

Nkoudou again an unproven french winger with two seasons of reasonable football underneath him. Marseille were absoloutely atrocious last season and he was not there best player.

We need quality not players like this. We look like a mid table side in transfers. Not saying break the bank but bring in someone to improve the first eleven or push it. Lacazette would be brilliant, James rodriguez something someone.

Poch can work wonders/miracles with players but they have to have every attribute his niche ways desires. If they do not they stick out like a sore thumb from day one because they do not fit the niche system. Fazio and Njie clear examples. nkoudou would be a very odd risk to take we may aswell keep njie.

Ffs LLM, naming James Rodriguez as an example of someone we should be after is absolutely ludicrous.

My problem with this is that he's like Townsend with less end product

Really don't get this signing tbh especially if we are considering getting rid of Njie or Chadli to accommodate him.

Don't think I've ever read a comment by llm that I've agreed with

he does make some really strange comments, he convinced me at one point that bale wasn't going anywhere and if he was he swore it would not be to Madrid, i also remember a Europa league match a few years and he put his 11 forward, it was the weirdest selection i have seen, players out of position awful players in, good players left out

Tbf LLM been saying since last season that pritch is on his way out and that seems spot on.

We really should have been going for a higher grade of player than this kid IMO

Waynama at that price was fantastic bit of business, Janssen could go either way I'm not personally keen on him but hope he does the business.

Lacazette or Batshuayi was my choice and think we could of got Bats if we went in on asking price early before it got pushed up during euros.

Fekir, Gotze or Boufal I'd bring in for an attacking midfield threat with the two from the French league easily attainable IMO

Easier said than done I know

llm defo has some decent inside info not doubting that, just comes out with some strange things, remember poch would be first manager sacked last year?

There are a lot of fantasists posting on these boards, making predictions left right and centre, by law of averages some of them come true, but most of it is usually nonsense.

Yea that was a strange one but fair play to him he held his hands up to it where other ( RC ) just disappeared. Tony pulis still gets me

yeah no probs with llm. seems a nice bloke who obv has/had dealings with the club, just find some of his opinions strange

James has done very little to justify his exorbitant fee, add to the fact that his wages are probably ridiculous. The chances of him leaving for less than £40m as well as the chances of us paying £40m are laughable.

James Rodriguez ? That's straight out the don school of wanting a glamour name without considering what he will cost and what he will bring

Wages and transfer out of our league. And the player is vastly overated anywys

posted on 17/7/16

We can all wish for signings like Lacazette, Batshuayi or James Rodriguez, but we just can't afford to play the wages they desire.
If we do break our wage structure for one then Kane, Demblele, Eriksen, Toby etc will all want par wages

The club's plan is to buy relatively unknowns, with hopefully the right research and scouting done and offer new contracts every year or two with higher wages to reward them.

Until we are settled in our new stadium with the extra revenue it will bring only then can we entice the big name players to the club.

For now its just a case of hoping the club is scouting well and Poch can develop them into stars.

We all know the module we are working too but to keep rigidly to it is a massive gamble especially when the teams around us are getting in quality players!

Like I put earlier Bats we had been looking at since last summer and knew the price and had (according to reports) come to agreement with him over contract. We dithered and then west hams, palace & Chelsea came in and offered big money and then we pulled out.

We are gambling IMO and I hope it don't come back to haunt us.

hengy, Marseille were waiting for the euros to bump his price up, once it got over 20 mill we were never really in it, we would have signed him if it hadn't got to silly money but we decided not to pay over what we thought he was worth (like any well run business would do) and move onto other target i.e janssen, similar profile of player, not a great league, 1 good season, few international caps highly rated etc , time will see who the better player is,

posted on 17/7/16

I suppose its just a case of waiting and seeing and hope Poch, Mitchell and co have done their homework on Janssen and N'koudou.

On Paper, not really signings to be excited about but then again we don't know too much about them, but we could be raving about them soon.

Bats & Jannsen are not similar players.

If we bidded what they wanted before euros then we would've got it. The reason we didn't was we was waiting until they got close to deadline of needing the money in hope we'd get him cheaper. Instead other teams came in and price sky rocketed.

I just think this was the summer to go up a level instead of knocking around at players like this one.

Everyone who got frustrated with Townsend will do the same with him.

Just hope these are players Poch wants and feels he can improve them

no not similar players at all, I said similar profile, not a great league, young, one real good season a few good international caps. No way would we have got him if we bid before the euros, no way would they have sold him for 20 mill and taken the risk that he scored 3-4 goals at the euros and they could almost double his price
