He didnt appoint Moyes.

Of course he did he signs off on everything. Just because Fergie recommended Moyes doesn't mean its not Woodward's appointment. Woodward made the decision and thats what he is paid for

I've long been critical of Woodward but this summer he delivered the players the manager wanted and all before the season started. Our struggles today are down to Jose.

posted on 18/9/16

He's just about given our past 2 managers exactly what they have asked for in the TW.

You've got to look at the fans too

Really? Moyes wanted the likes of Fabregas, and got Varela and Janko

If you are in a position to pay the best wages and the best salaries then you can deliver anything. But he isnt a football man and doesnt have a football brain. He wasnt able to convince Pep to come and he wont be able to identify the next genius of football management.

Simultaneously keeping in depth track on the young managers market to put him in a position to identify the next young managerial genius and then appoint him and it's all good?

Tough gig

Woodward is cracking at his job. Are you deranged? The man has delivered on transfers and continues to improve our revenues and commercial attractiveness year on year.

The problem, and it has been a problem for three years now, is that our board members/owners seem to care more about these things (revenue and commercial attractiveness) more so than what goes on on the pitch.

That's the problem right now.

Manchester United is and has been the most famous team in the world. The commercial success of Woodward is over rated. the majority of cash is from TV nothing to do with Woodward. Then the main sponsorship comes from shirt and kit and both of these deals have been driven by sport market inflation and despite having the most commercially attractive club our deals are worth less than Real or Barca and the penalties in the both deals mean they could be worth less than the chelsea shirt deal next year if we fail to get into Europe's Champions league again.

How people applaud him for getting the likes of Pogba is baffling. If you offer me a million today, I will give you my 300k flat no hesitation and move out the same day.

seriously? Who do you think brought the owners in? Woodward is the same as the Glazers. He managed the buy out of the club when the Glazers were his clients at JP Morgan and Woodward structured the buy out deal including the debt model. He is one and the same as the Glazers. meanwhile the results speak for themselves and that is the value of the job he has done. The last 3 years have been a disaster and that is under woodward's watch. This is going the way of MU in the late 1960s and that was supposed to be impossible nowadays but right now Im not sure what year we will be EPL champions again.

So he's done nothing and anyone could do the same?

Explain to me why a 'football man' will do so much better in Woodeards current role?

Agreed MUDD. Woodward delivered the 4 players he was asked to, what more could he do?

Kneerash

They wouldn't of course. Woodward gets a lot of abuse, and justifiably so at times. But to question his acumen in commercial activities is bizarre.
