kneerash DDG MOTM with 0 saves according to Lawro and poor dealing with corners all night with 0 corners to deal with according to Neville when opposition goalkeeper MOTM wba and then chelsea game back in LVG first season. Lawro even used the fact if it wasn't for DDG we would have lost against WBA so that means Chelsea league leaders will win but ironically both games WBA and Chelsea goalkeeper where MOTM with 5 saves and 6 saves while our keeper barely made a save in both games.

.....
We had most forward passes too as teams just let us attack for 80-90 minutes. Thats why we faced so few shots against us in the 2 seasons under LVG.
I knew under Mourinho we would go from most pressing side to most passive side to allow space for counter attack. 2 seasons of LVG work down the drain. We were actually becoming like Barcelona of 2011. Now we turned into a Jose style pragmatic approach.
Anyway since Klopp took charge of Liverpool Man Utd have gained a point more in same amount of premierleague games

Can the fans accept such a change in image ?

Metro,
I believe that right now the fans would accept any change that gets us back in contention for league and champions league titles.

Young fans who have known nothing else bar success under Ferguson. They'd see the soul of football burn to be king of the ashes.
The older, proper, Utd fans who remember when Utd were gash would rather the Utd "way" from what I have encountered.

Just checked only Arsenal had more possession then Man Utd last season and Man Utd had most territorial possession 2 seasons in a row under LVG.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Heard a really good interview with Rudd Guillt last week when he said something like "if you want to play just possession then lets takes the goals away and whoever has most possession wins".
Possession is a stat that fans get hung up about. As Leicester showed last season you dont even need to dominate to win games/titles.
Surely everyone on here knows that Hafi makes the majority of his stats up by now don't they. Just takes a little dip test.
His wumming/spam works when Utd are good but is a huge failure when they are poor. He's about 3 years past his sell by date and I'd gladly see him kicked from the site.
Exactly Hoody, I do like how he says "I'm sure" or "I think" then throws some ridiculous stat out there
I am surprised any of you actually still take notice of Hafi.
Not once have I opened a Hafi link.
Less and less to be fair.
He had me for a while in fairness.
Me neither.
Guys harmless though. Just ignore him. Autistic, I suspect.
People still taking Hafi seriously.More fool them.
It's hard not to some days Like if he's 100% a wum he puts an outrageous amount of time into it, I just find it hard to believe someone would go to all that effort.
I see him as a quiet lad, bit nerdy who loves numbers and footbal.

Completely disagree. Having been a match going fan I can assure you that the disgruntlement at our recent demise is not limited to the under-30s. Fans of all ages covet success, and aren't afraid to voice their disapproval. Few United fans would welcome a return to the 'United way' simply for the sake of it, if there wasn't a foundation of competing for trophies underpinning it. After all, Tommy Docherty and Frank O'Farrell both tried to play the United way.
I'm not saying that long term we would be happy with tolerating a dire style of play for a modicum of success - look at the hounding of Sexton. However, given the choice between winning like 'boring boring Chelsea' or becoming the new 'old Man City' I think most would prefer the steady success over the roller-coaster.

City are slowly starting to take over but Liverpool you havent even won the premiership.............
20 years and counting for the once great club Everton.
Fin.
& 26 years for Liverpool incidentally since the backpass rule was introduced
No it's not 26 years for LFC. How on earth do you work that out?
Are you yeah yeah? I honestly forgot just how fvcking stupid you are.
Everton have won nothing for decades, and certainly not the Premiership, and you think you can mock a far more successful outfit just because they haven't won a trophy that you haven't either?
You can't even mock Wigan and Birmingham you idiot.
Just thought… perhaps Hafi is the intern at Opta.
Opta get their stats right though.
