I went for digital copy when I got bo3

The main reason was the convenience and price of it. The game was released on a week day do I started it downloading on a morning with my ps4 in rest mode.

By the time I was home it was ready for me and was good to go.

It was also cheaper and easier to do then any if the other methods to get a physical copy

What's COD Remastered like then ?
.........
I've only played the campaign so far, brings back so much memories, the graphics look amazing. Can't believe this game came out 9 years ago, seems like yesterday. Used to spend hours playing this back in Uni days, good times.

I bought the Legacy Edition, just wanted to play CoD 4 remastered. Anyway, it was a 45gb file, and it took about 30 hours to download on the xbox one. I've got the 50meg broadband on virgin media. God I hate this new gen of digital download crap, and install before you play.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

A mate of mine who has an Xbox One summed it up quite well when he said that we've gone backwards in gaming to the early 80's when it would take forever to load up a game on the Spectrum etc. This gen sucks in that regard.

What's COD Remastered like then ?

Couldnt disagree more. A 1 off download when you install the game sometimes is nothing like 30 minutes EVERYTIME you wanted to play TMNT. The fact with digital downloads you can have everything there by 00:01 on release. Not on the weekend, no need to go to the shops, you done nothing more than click the button whilst sat on your fat ass!

So, is there any way you can get MW Remastered by itself? I don't really want IW, just the ol' remastered version of CoD.

posted on 7/11/16

Sadly it's the way it's going. In 14 years or so consoles will be obsolete as gaming will be streamed from cloud based technology.

Got that info recently.

The idea of installing the game digitally is purely to save distribution and production costs imo.

Possibly the biggest hustle of this gen is the premium content that has attached itself to the entity that is expansion packs. The black market concept is too much for me, it's essentially, pay for the game, now pay for a chance to get an OP smg.

People say they want to go back in time, however how much of that is a faux nostalgia born of a loathing of the current game(s)?

ill be buying it at some point.

Errrr, that's pretty much just mainstream gaming ie. fps's/mmorpg's etc.

Consoles were always going to go that route. Try pc gaming if you would like games more like the golden years of gaming.

I'm sick and tired of micro transactions

Loads of PC games have micro transactions in them though, no different at all really.

And even more do not. It is very different.

Anyway it's up to people to not buy them if they want it to stop.

Played some multiplayer on Modern Warfare Remastered, every single lobby is just full off try hard snipers and campers. I'm talking at least 9/12 players are sniping and camping. Makes it incredibly slow and boring gameplay. Game is just as it was 9 years ago, but the new gen players... they just ruin it. Now I know why they weakened snipers in the later CoD games.

cant believe the PC players of CoD have been split between Steam and hardcopies .... they cant play with one another and the player count is dreadful if you aint on at peak times you can pretty much only play TDM!! peak player count on steam is under 16k players (it was over 60k for Black ops 3) by all accounts sales have taken a massive hit.

How sad. People these days are utterly obsessed with their K/D ratio even if it means them having a boring and chit game. I remember Call of Duty 4 being a really enjoyable free for all.

These days? Lol

That's all that game had ever been about

Not as bad as it is now, I put in many many hours on the original CoD 4 back in the days, yes there was camping and sniping, but not to the extend the Remastered has, half the time, games end because the time limit runs out. It's a total joke and just not fun.

That's sad to hear, on the old COD 4 it was all out action. Like you say there were always campers and snipers but games nearly always flowed well with loads of action.

Maybe I won't bother with the Remastered version. Certainly not unless it gets it's own release as I've got no intention of paying £70 for Infinite Warfare.

Do you still get all the same maps ? Bog used to be my favourite, spraying three grenades at once lol.

posted on 10/11/16

Used to be a huge grenade frenzy COD4 did, my mate whose been playing it (I've not yet) has echoed your sentiments about it being a total camp/snipe fest, which is a shame.

I don't even see the need to have a K/D score stick with the player, show it after each game but the whole leveling system and ranks on multiplayers these days take over from actually enjoying each game as it comes.

We get 10 of the original maps (includes Bog), the other 6 will be coming out as DLC later on I'm assuming. Typical greedy Activision milking people once again.

Oh yeah, the M16 is ridiculously over powered, just like it was in the original.

Alright, another week has gone by. Does anyone still recommend this game? Still leaning towards BF1 or Titanfall but I dunno yet.

I liked BOIII, hated AW, hated Ghost, and loved BOII.

BF1

Titanfall is fun, but don't think I'll be playing it for as long as BF1.

posted on 10/11/16

Thanks Mike. The only thing I don't like about BF1 is the time duration per round. Like conquest takes like 20 minutes per round if memory serves me right. Would prefer something that's more fast paced. Any recommendations?

sorry but its really not a "new" CoD, same engine and the STILL P2P servers !?! are they for real ? with the amount of money they have coined in from the franchise they still dont have dedicated servers that is absolutely scandalous no ifs no buts.... The sales have dropped dramatically this year. By all accounts the single player campaign is pretty cool but multiplayer is sadly just not up to par anymore...shame I loved CoD it was was once the mainstay of my FPS diet.

each to their own delboy. Ignoring the backend, So far:

I get a game pretty much 24\7
I have yet to experience any Lag in a game
I have not had 1 game end prematurely.

whatever is going on behind the scenes, as a player it ticks all the boxes
