who want want to end their career up here.
No need for him, He's a legend and was obvs a world class player. He would still stroll it here but we need a long term solution for that role
This was always going to prop up again.
There is a certain degree of possibility over it but there are so many factors regarding whether it would be a good addition or not.
Personally I'm all for it, a wonderful footballer and someone who is still capable of playing to a decent standard in midfield.
Wages are the biggest stumbling block as he's probably on the best part of $100,000 a week over in LA and to drop that by at least 50% plus swap Hollywood for the Barras is a big ask.
That said, he won't go to England so unless some Chinese club offers silly money and he wants one last pay day then there is a chance it could happen.
possible due to rodgers? yes.
required? we could use a cm.
long term probably not the answer, but possible.
Keny
An 18 month deal would be fine with me as his experience alone would be useful for the likes of Armstrong etc, you just need to look at how our defence has improved with Kolo in there as an example.
Plus, he's my favourite English player ever so get him signed

Is he better than what you have in MF? If yes it makes sense to enquire.
I'd imagine they will want bring their kids up in Britain and his missus is preggars again so a move close to him would be the best option for him. No way he'll move to China, unless LA offer him a new deal and he fancies staying over there for the forseeable.
If they want to come home though and playing against Liverpool isn't an option for him, then surely Celtic is the best option in his mind to wind down his career.
I've not seen him play recently so not sure if he still has the fitness etc required.
he's an absolute legend though
He was really starting to look a little past it in MLS do a move down to earth he Scottish league may prolong the career I suppose
lampard and gerrard were both immense.

They would probs move back to Liverpool and the big chap would work it out for himself.
I read that Klopp wants him back at Liverpool in a coaching role....if his mrs is preggers then i would assume that would be the most attractive role to him
If he's serious about wanting to still play though and has stated he wouldn;t move to another English club then what else is left for him?
Given his missus is pregnant I doubt a short term move somewhere abroad appeals. Unless as I say, LA offer him a new deal and they want to continue living there.

I was wondering when you would comment
I take back my original comment. How could you not want him if offered on a free. Would p1ss it up here like big Kolo.
With a player like Gerrard at the club, Celtic would be able to grow their fanbase and gain worldwide recognition.
Would also suggest that it would be a great idea for Liverpool to get him back. At the very most Gerrard should only expect 4 or 5 sub experiences. However his experience and love for the cub would be such a positive influence in the dressing room. I don't understand why clubs don't keep long-serving players at the club during their later years anymore. Can be a great motivator to the team and will allow the player to move into an ambassadorial or coaching role within the club.
Imagine if Liverpool are still in the title race come April and go on a 3 match losing streak but are still in touch distance. Gerrard would be able to talk his positive experience ( not the slip ) and that would really help the younger players.
He has openly criticised St Brendan in his book - unacceptable
