Zola maybe but the 90s were 4-4-2, crosses, and slide tackles from behind. Hardly better football.

My point was that footballers in general were more skillful back then with more flair players in my opinion and I wasn't limiting it just to English football or even club football for that matter.

Zola has to be in, at the expense of any current player you care to mention. Le Saux would be the other.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Zola was great but Hazard is better imo. Zola is more artistic but Hazard has pace and is more efficient with his dribbling, a bit like Ronaldinho vs Messi.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Tough one to call mate, Zola is arguably the better goal scorer, better passer, no slouch when it comes to speed and a better creator.
Hazard, yes more efficient with his dribbling for sure, stretches teams more, is slightly quicker but I wouldn't say at this stage better.
The potential to eclipse Zola, no doubt but personally I dont think he has....yet.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I can see where you're coming from. But we can make a case for Hazard to be in the top 5 players in the world right now. The same can't be said about Zola even at his peak.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
plenty more expressive and better players back then imo. the game has turned functional and stats based
From Hoddle, Gullit's & Vialli's Chelsea...
