Doesn't matter. We are rightly favourites to win the Europa.

See you in the Champions League final next season.

I will eat my hat if Spurs finish above Arsenal this season. Just will not happen.

May as well just pack it in now and have a pint at Winchester?

He has Arsenal outside the top 4 as well.... it is as if he thinks the rules don't apply anymore...

I just think arsenal will struggle still have massive games to play away from home an rely on sanchez too much

It's 2 mini leagues. Chelsea, Pool and City in a title race. Arsenal, Spurs and United for the last CL place. I fancy Chelsea to win the league and Arsenal to come 4th.

Level on points with Spurs....yet Spurs will finish 2 places higher than United? Spurs haven't left themselves with too much to do then?

Think Chelsea look to be in a race on their own right now.

You can't group Liverpool and City with Chelsea if you ignore Arsenal. 6 points difference between Chelsea to 2nd, yet Liverpool and Arsenal are only 3 points apart.

The title is Chelsea's, everyone else is playing for the order below them.

Basing it on the fact that Arsenal steamroll opposition at the foot of the table better than anyone else but come up short against the best. The top 6 mini league favours the 3 teams I mentioned for the title. Agree though, Chelsea are in a class of their own right now.

Pure speculation this.

It is still a long season till its over.
Top teams will face bad spells and certainly drop points
So 6-9 points are not safety cushions at this stage.
It comes down to the team with longer good form eventually

Final picture will certainly yet to change

That assertion is not based on points margin but more to do with the general assumption that Arsenal cant challenge for a league title.

Even if Liverpool were a point behind arsenal they would still be considered as chelseas closest rivals. Its fair enough though considering how arsenal have under achieved for 10 years and fans tend to prefer a new challenger Spurs, Liverpool as compared to more consistent team like Arsenal.

I personally think there are 3 groups going for the title, Chelsea 6 points clear, Liverpool, City and Arsenal then a small chance for United and Spurs.

The fixture list, nerves and injuries will determine the final Top 4 positions, not who is in form now, or who plays the best football.

20 games left which is plenty

I have been watching clips of must of liverpools build up play and Mane appears to be a more important feature than even Coutinho. His absence could be telling for Liverpool

Definitely concerned about Mane going as we get lots of joy down his side. It's just good that Coutinho comes back at the same time. I'd favour Origi on the wing in place of Mane with Firmino center. Origi has a similar skillset to Mane just with less pace.

The way it is at the moment, a team will only have to lose two consecutive games and they'll find themselves outside the top four.

I still think any of Liverpool, City, Arsenal, Spurs or United can get one of the three CL spots up for grabs. Any fan taking a place for granted at this stage could end up looking rather daft.

It's pretty remarkable that United have won their last 4 games yet remain in 6th. Very strong league this year.

Chelsea and Liverpool will finish top 2, owing mostly to a lack of European football. No idea what order for the rest. It will come down to injuries and how far they get in other competitions.

I can still remember the bookies paying out on us in February in 98. Then Arsenal won 11 on the bounce and nicked title by a pt.

Long way to go.

We were quite a few pts back though so not really all that remarkable.

I also dont understand why people are willing to lock the Top 4 positions at this stage.

Gained 5 points on 4th I think.

Nothing is won in Dec, and 6 points lead is not a lot at this stage of the season folks

posted on 28/12/16

Not even halfway through the season, much can change.

Whilst I don't think Chelsea will implode you have to remember Newcastle being 10 points clear at Christmas and further extending to 12 points through January.

They finished 4 points behind in May.

Without stating the obvious Chelsea will drop points with either losses or draws then it's upto the chasers to pressurise them.
