Cellino's legacy?

I heard that AR put £10m in months ago with the agreement MC would relinquish day to day control.

Had that not happened then Monk would have been sacked and we would be worrying about relegation.

I think we've got where we are in spite of Cellino but I'm sure his lovers will give him all the praise he demands.

The last three owners hace lowered expectations to a seriously low level

Cellino has been a disaster

And for Leeds United to be 5th in the champ isn't anything to be proud of

Cellino had nothing to do with Bates going.

Accounts have shown us making big losses and more debt under Cellino.

The fact that it's looking like someone has baled Cellino out should hardly be cause to ignore all the humiliating fiascos that Cellino has put us through for the last couple of years.

Thank you for the article Perth. Are we allowed to have multiple member accounts here?

Are you kidding? If you read the article you will clearly see I dispise Cellino. our worst owner ever.

My point is somehow during his ownership we seem to now be on the up.

Jonty Phil Hay reporting finances very good. Not aure if that's a true judgement though.

LIW agree he has been a disaster, which is the ironic purpose behind our article. Also agree 5th is not good enough. But we've come a long way (partly under Grayson). Those -15 days in League1 were painful days for example.

Yorkie, how much of those finances being good are due to money from AR, we have to see accounts for that, we were in real financial trouble under Cellino.

Pontus will

West Ham just bid 10m for hogan, soon as they get someone, we will prob get fletcher.

LIW.I gave up the season ticket about 5 years ago when my daughter came along. However my enjoyable of 10 odd season tickets was the minus 15 year.

We just failed in the end but there was a real click between the club and fans. Was us against the world. every time we were winning you were waiting for the -15/12/9 etc, who gives a...

He wouldn't have stumbled across Monk if he'd have got his first or second choice watermelons in the summer.

Think GFH were the worst with the Sardine a close second.

Feel that we are in a good position due to Monk being given a chance and Cellino getting lucky as Monk was available and cheap and not in vogue.

The only thing I will give him credit for is sanctioning Woods - still not convinced it was his own money though.

And the new St Wakefield is right - 5th is not good by LUFC standards.

He has cleared out the club of the dead wood, not just playing staff, the "golden fish bowl" era mindset that led to extravegently paid employees who contributed little towards the successful operations of the club.
He has aggressively streamlined the financial and business operations so that we are running more efficiently, more cost effective
Whisper it but we are beggining to resemble a professional football club
I hope Cellino stays he is the best thing that has happened to Leeds United since Leslie Silver

LIW I suggest you look at history, our average position is in the second division. We should not expect to automatically be a first division club, that kind of mindset is Leeds' downfall.

Nah I looked at the highs and where we have been and still should be if it wasn't mis managed so many times

Never settle for second best

Your mindset is what has held the club back

I've never settled for second best for Leeds, why I am constantly striving for Leeds to be a competently run and successful club. However occupying a fantasy land that simply does not exist that Leeds are somehow on the same level as certain other clubs gives everyone unrealistic expectations and puts a dark, depressing, needless pressure on Leeds players who are simply ordinary people with average abilities. And actually does a diservice to the achievements of Leeds' past.

According to the history books, there are 3 seasons where we were above everybody else's level!

What other clubs

When we was in Prem only Liverpool skum and arsenal was bigger

Only Mis management has destroyed that

The simple facts are these: we have spent over ten years in this league sometimes desperately struggling and most of the time doing absolutely nothing. It is not a conincidence that for the first time with Cellino, we have an owner with tangible wealth, combined with genuine experience and knowledge in running football clubs, we have a side that can compete for promotion. All credit for that is rightfully Cellino's Im afriad

You're not far from the truth.

We've progressed and you'd have to be blind not to see that. We're a long way from perfect but this current position bodes well for the future.

I recall MC coming in and literally everything negative was raked up. This time it's wait and see re AR so I suspect nothing has turned up!! I believe it's a good deal for all concerned.

Onwards and upwards & credit where credits due.

........................................................................................

Are you totally thick?

Cellino has been trying to sell the club for ages because he has no money!

AR has been funding and running the club for months. Cellino is quiet because he's been told to be. We still have Monk because MC was not allowed to sack him like every other manager (and most of the experienced staff at ER).

You can package it any way you like but Cellino has been a disaster for the club and without AR we would be in dire straights now!

I'm actually amazed at how many people I've seen call Massimo a legend or a genius today....it's pretty disturbing.

He has been a disaster, just like Bates and GFH before him. As LIW said, we were bigger than Chelsea, City, Tottenham etc when in the premiership, it's been totally ballsed up since then purely through bad management....Cellino is no different.

Let's hope this guy can get us where we need to be but it's a big ask to get us competing at the very top again.

Understand what you're saying geldered. But, I don't
think it is as big an ask as we once thought. As many
have said on here and elsewhere, if this club's run
correctly, by a good owner with intent, sky's the limit.

Yes, it needs that good owner and an injection of money.
But, we have a lot of necessary ingredients already
in place. Now if AR's that owner and he hopefully, brings
other investors with him, we can get back where we belong.

If West Brom, Bournemouth, Southampton, Stoke,
Burnley, West Ham, Watford, Leicester, Middlesbrough,
Crystal Palace, Sunderland, Swansea, Hull, and
Fulham can all do it, why not us?
