Because, the current top 6 are miles ahead of the rest and can beat each other. I've never seen it so open in my lifetime. To be fair, I've never experienced Spurs being spoke about as one of the top teams in the country so it's all good with me.
Because otherwise Top 4 or Top 5 would naturally excludes those media darlings Manu - can't have that now.
Oh yeah, cant have utd not being at the top that would be a disaster.
Can someone just tell me what happened to their title challenge this season, I thought it would be a straight fight for the 2 manchester clubd this yearπππ
It became the "big 4" when it was always the same top 4 every season and coincidentally "or not" it's 4 to qualify for CL

Yeah we know that, but why the top 6 mate!
If you notice ...
spurs fans in particular used to do that when liverpool were 6th (top5) . If we were 8th (top7) and so on...
If utd were 7th it would be top 7th
The top six are all relatively close to each other and then there's a huge gap back to Everton in 7th. I'd say if united were 10 points behind city it would be a top five.
Doesn't matter anyway, so long as we finish in the top four all is well.
The 'top 4' became the 'top 5' a few years ago when Liverpool missed out on the CL.
This has only become the 'top 6' this season. Pretty much because they are so far away from the rest of the teams.
It's only been properly used this season to refer to the current top 6 who are all well ahead of the rest of the league, and all top 4 contenders, and just so happen to be the biggest 6 teams in the league based on size and performance and have been for what, at least 7-8 years by a clear distance.
probably to do with the top 6 fighting for the top 4 places.

So a pretty obvious question to ask then - or was it merely rhetorical ?
What a silly question to ask when it's clear the top 6 teams are miles ahead of the others, all fighting for a top 4 finish.
Get a grip!
