There is a mindset with clubs in Yorkshire like Huddersfueld and Barnsley that they only seem to care about two things which is beating other Yorkshire clubs, and beating Leeds, which is why despite its enormous size football in Yorkshire is so poor compared to other regions in the country. This type of parochialism is rife and destructive, it is not a healthy rivalry but a seething hatred that creates bitterness and hatred. Despite its many foibles one of the good things about Leeds is that it has been a more outward looking club, looking beyond the borders of Yorkshire, and even England

Listen to yourselves. It's hilarious how big and important you think you are. You've been so mouthy in the build up to this and your team and fans were RUBBISH.

Keep posting these laughable articles please. It's helping the beer go down a treat

Didn't realise today was our 46th game of the season and we're staying down. It took you lot 89 mins to do what you lot said you'd do it 20, even then you needed a deflection

AND you're on the Leeds board not yours

Shaun, it doesn't matter anyway. Huddersfield won the league back in October!

It's an open forum and as such I'll go wherever I like.

Pretty sure football games go on for 90 minutes and given the 89th minute is inclusive of that, it really isn't a problem for me when we score. Au contraire...last minute derby winner suits me better than fine.

You'd have thought we'd have given up then wouldn't you, having already won the league.

Yet weirdly we've beaten 2nd and (previously) 4th in the space of 3 days. Doesn't sound too much like we think the job is done to me. We may taken til October to realise just how good we are, but at least you lot now know it too.

And yet both have two defeats against us to their name this season.

Perhaps you need better best players?

Don't really see leeds fans on your board, you're always crawling around on here.

1st post is spot on. Huddersfield and other Yorkshire clubs seem to only view themselves in relation to Leeds. I said before the game that I think Huddersfield need to get rid of their inferiority complex. This is what I mean. Leeds fans see the season as failure if we don't get promoted. You're overly concerned with how you are doing compared to us.

Don't see the issue, biggest club in Yorkshire is Leeds. This isn't even a question, how many global fans do Hudds have, because I are only as big as your fanbase period.

That being said, Hudds and their team are 18monthsbin the making and I remember last season saying they were building a promotion chasing team.
The start of the season before a ball was kicked, I tipped them for success on here.

We are imo a year ahead of schedule, if we don't go up this year I firmly believe we will get autos next. If we do go up this season(which if u are intelligent and objective is still very much on offer) 3 home wins and we could be seeing a different table.

Chambers, I thought you were quite a reasonable poster here before, but you're out of control today , mate. Try to calm down. I am confident the Mrs and your dog will appreciate it.

I can accept losing by a better side today, not a problem, we didn't deserve to win! But wow, what a pathetic club Huddersfield are....top to bottom cringeworthy

Let's do it again in the playoffs, all Monk has to do is play a video of that nonce Wagner running up the touch line, no team talk needed

Champers is a good objective poster and a damn fine chap to boot. But the win against us has gone to his head like all Town fans. The sheer euphoria after the final whistle and for a considerable time afterwards, for both fans and players, was there for all to see. It really was like winning a cup final for them, yet they were favourites and the better team. Nowt wrong with that.
Alas, we move on. Cardiff next up followed by Bristol City. If we get six points from those two, we're back in it.

During my conversations with you in the build up to the game, and the brief message afterwards, we've been sound with each other, and I'm sure you realise anything I put isn't thrown at the decent level headed posters like yourself.

It's the ones who take the bait that it's aimed at. Those that got all giddy in the build up and portrayed the patronising figures us Town fans have had to put up with for years. We've had your success forced down our throats for so long and whilst I could never begrudge you the success you've had as a club, to spend an entire life, at school, at work, in the pub, in my case at family functions, being told "Leeds are ace, Town are sh-te, we're huge, you're tinpot, blah, blah, f-cking blah", well it does stick in the craw. Banter I love, arrogance I don't.

But then a time comes when we've actually got a team we can feel genuinely proud of. Okay, they're not gonna bring home the FA Cup or take us into the Champions League, but they're good. Very good. Well capable of mixing it with the very best in the division.

Yet in the build up, despite warnings that we'd already comfortably beaten you once this season, it was all "our form is way better, it's a far different team now, we will play on your set piece weakness". I heard so many times about how Hernandez was going to put on an all-you-can-head buffet for Jansson and Wood that it started to creep into my dreams.

Not once did it occur that we might be a tasty side ourselves. We weren't brilliant as much as Brighton were rubbish on Thursday apparently, yet when you smashed Derby to bits (and I was straight on here to tell you how impressed I was with you) that was all down to how great you were.

The very least I expected was a show of respect. Some did, and those posters will know who they are and from past encounters with me will know this is not aimed at that them, but for the Billy big bollox types, the ones who like to use the terms "dog botherers" (๐Ÿ’ค) and poodles. For those idiots, this is where your arrogance comes back to bite you on your hide. Hopefully you'll learn something from it.

If I could play god and choose how this season ends, truthfully, then it's us top and you second. Anyone but Wednesday in the play offs. You impressed me with your physicality and first half you got it pretty much spot on, but I still feel skillwise we are a lot better and we were able to take the game by the scruff of the neck in the second half. The late goal was cruel but it did go to the better side.

Anyway you'll be happy to know I've got it out of my system now. Time for both teams to move on hopefully and cement their deserved places in the top 6. As ever, good luck for the rest of the season, unless our paths should cross again....

You've definitely got the spine of something good. Beast of a centre half, good mix of passers and battlers in the middle, pace and much needed width with the new signings and a goal scorer in red hot form. You just need to start creating a few more chances. Said to my brother recently that if you lot created the amount of chances we do you'd probably get double figures every game. Same today, how many chances did you have, yet still got the goal and stayed in the game. I think if you start creating more chances you could be very dangerous indeed.

I agree with what you say. Town deserved the win, no question about that. They are a very good team. Back to back wins against top five teams is ample evidence of that. If we finish above you, we'll go up.

"I think if you start creating more chances you could be very dangerous indeed."

Valid point.

We were schooled today, no question.

Both of these teams could be very difficult for others to beat the rest of the season.

I may even try to watch any of your games that are televised through May.

We've certainly stepped up a gear since Izzy Brown came in and we finally look to have maybe found the goals we've been struggling for. I'd put our central midfield up there as potentially the best in the league now. Hogg has finally become the player he was at Watford, and Mooy is, well, Mooy.

If there's a missing piece in our proverbial jigsaw, then it's the set piece defending. Conceded again today from a free kick, although I thought we did well overall as you had probably a good ten or more crosses from corners and free kicks. If we can eradicate the silly errors at those situations or even better, be a bit more clever when defending in potential danger areas, then we could maybe have a real think about snatching top two. A week ago I would have said no chance

Knew this was going to be really tough today. There's a few sides in this league capable of playing good football on their day... and they're definitely one of the more consistent of them. They've given up a few chances, when I've seen them but looked better defensively today... or maybe we just weren't able to test them enough.

Never felt they were ripping through us today... just that sustained pressure in the second half was giving them numerous half chances.

We rave over Hernandez set piece delivery, but he failed to clear the first man a few times today. Probably didn't give hudders the test there we should have when he had the ascendancy in the first half.

No it wasn't anything like the Brighton game. You clearly did your homework and if you could have match the physicality of the first hour for 90 minutes then you could maybe have stolen the game yourselves.

The beauty of how we play is that it forces teams to really run, and we seem to score an obscene amount of late goals. Our stamina levels were immense after pre season and I totally underestimated just how important fitness levels are in this division. A lot of what we do is built from that.

Be interesting to see how the new guys settle in for you as you've lacked depth in the wide areas for so long. You're still a team people will be keeping a close eye on and whilst I do believe we are currently slightly better than you are, if we were to meet in the play offs I wouldn't necessarily have us down as favourites.
