Aussie can only throw this away now. Terrible 1st innings and this should have India 1-0 down in the next couple of days.

ps. We deserve all the wumming we get. Happy to take it. I'd be dishing it out if it was another team

I think anything under 450 india still have a slight chance, big ask now though, 6 wickets in 24balls though I mean wtf

That was one of the worst days of test cricket I have ever seen us play at home - utterly brainless. Smith was also dropped 3 times - unforgivable really. No chance we will be getting this score even if we bowl the Aussies out pronto tomorrow. Not a chance in hell on this gritty wicket. Application was needed as Handscomb showed in the first innings but none of our batsmen Rahul aside showed any.

Shocking day for India. Most the wickets were down to silly shots rather than being done over by the bowling. The pitch is turning but I still don't think it's impossible to bat on.

Plenty of time left in this match. Get Australia out cheaply tomorrow and a couple of big partnerships..never know what could happen.

Another thing biting us, if we are going to play 3 spinners, why did we rest j yadav, in Bangladesh match. He has clearly given way too many runs in this match for a spinner.

Tomorrow India will have to grind it out. Think we are in for a cracker depending on how much fight is left in the team. But I reckon aus have got their first win in India since 2004.

Rehndey Pogback - no chance we are going to even come close to winning this game imo. Viru I think he wasn't fully fit as he injured his knee against England. 3 spinners and we've been outbowled by bloody O'Keefe at home

Tbf the blame has to lie with the batsmen this test. Shocking innings from them.

Agreed kav. The worst thing is kohli went on to say that England were the toughest team to tour here, and he had hopes of consolidating this series with 4-0 win. Now we could potentially lose this match and the other matches as well. I still believe on flat track aus will beat us.

You guys are jumping the gun here..one bad session and you're talking about losing the series? Yes we may well lose this match and probably will but I still think we'll win the series.

Na not the series but this game is gone I feel. In a way we'll see how much character this Kohli side really has because they will have to bounce back from this. We haven't had to come from behind in a home test series under Kohli.

In the space of an hour, Smith plumb in front, not given and Wade edges behind, not given.

This is the problem with DRS..the purpose is to eliminate howlers so the limit doesn't make sense.

Well played Australia. Completely outplayed India in all the departments.

Pogback the way kohli wastes the reviews is more of a concern. It's the same for all teams, but we just use it mindlessly.

Time to go back to flat tracks. Our record in rank turners is questionable. Against SA we were hovering around 200 and that also against part timers. Here aus have full time spinners.

That's one hell of a home thumping from the Aussies

No fight shown at all even in the second innings - all out in 33.5 overs was again pathetic. The Aussies outplayed us in all facets of the game and fair play to them. DRS was also a shambles in this game. We wasted all reviews pointlessly so when wrong decisions were made we had none left. The game was effectively lost by that collapse in the first innings on such a pitch. Lets see if they can bounce back - they have a week to make some important decisions.

Our middle order looks so weak. At home we will probably get away with contributions of ashwin and jadeja. I'm not convinced Saha is our long term solution. He is meant to be so experienced yet bats like one who is playing his 10th match. His wicket keeping is really good, but apart from that he barely contributes with bat and neither plays an imprortant role in drs reviews.

Rahane is also a worry. He is very low in confidence ATM and the way he batted in both innings barely gives any confidence.

posted on 25/2/17

Yeh, he is quite trigger happy when it comes to reviews. Both Rahul and Vijay were out absolutely plumb so don't understand why they wasted two reviews within 6 overs.

In India, I don't think there is any need to go in with 5 bowlers. Jadeja and Ashwin are enough. Drop Ishant, if he's not going to be utilised anyway, no point in him occupying a spot. Inadequacies starting to show when the top order don't fire.

Also this match reminds me of 2012 we went with 3 spinners and got outbowled by Swann and panesar. Will be interesting to see how India fight back in Bangalore. It's set up the series quite nicely. If India repeat one of these innings they lose opportunity to win the series.

England tried the left arm spinner in Ansari..He wasn't up to it..I think India are suspect to left arm spinners..Indians struggle with the ball turning away.. The straight on ball becomes more of a problem then.. Englands spinners bowled to short and two wide most of the time.

Liverpool those pitches were flat in comparison to this one.

Ishant bowled 3 overs in the second innings for faack sake. Better having Donald Duck out there. We really missed the reverse and ability of Shami this test too. Any of you know when he's back?

Also yeah the middle order is a big worry at the moment - Rahane the way he's going isn't going to get much more time because Nair is waiting in the background.
