As i said above, we don't have the squad depth to do this to prove a point. Discipline him internally and move on, he should know the affect his actions have had on the team.
Agree that we don't have a leader on the pitch though, seems a long time since we had one.

Dier is fine in a 3. no time for him in a 2.
Dier played well in midfield last year but can't shift Victor or Moussa from there this season. He gives me the impression he doesn't want to play at the back because he now sees himself as a DM.
As much of an idiot as he was, he plays. He will get a European ban, hopefully missing a glamour tie to teach him a lesson.
I would be sorely tempted to go with Son on the left of the 343 myself, in Davies' place. Same side barring that
