When the owner says theres a million things to fix not just getting rid of CR implies there are issues throughout the club. But i guess Rudkin is so none stick that the kit washing ladies (or Gentlemen) will go first.
I think ultimately you're right although a huge proportion of the blame lies with Rudkin for me and of course with the owners themselves who come out with no credit having offered their unwavering support 2 weeks ago
It's clear that the owners have very little clue what to do footballing wise and desperately need to surround themselves with football people. They've chosen to promote Rudkin, an odious yes man with absolutely no football experience at all. A man who actually recommended Neil Lennon a serious managerial candidate after Pearson was sacked
We are now seeing reports of Ranieris frustration with the club for failing to sign Keane, a man identified by Walsh who would have made a huge difference. Recruitment has been the number one reason for our failure and the appointment of that utter moron as DoF has been a big factor behind that
Let's not forget though that Ranieri also has a part to play in his own downfall. No one made him change his tactics half an hour before kick off. No one made him inexplicably play Musa as a right midfielder or set us up so negatively game after game
I think BS has filtered me, but to reply to his comment, when the statement came out that the owners were backing Ranieri, you knew he was going to get sacked. Happens everywhere. The 'we back the manager' statement is the writing on the wall to be fair. Its diplomatic bullsheite. All clubs do the same when it comes to sacking the manager.
I think I will always look back and dwell over several things after our great season:
What if Walsh had stayed?
What if Kante had stayed?
What if Rudkin hadn't been promoted?
What if Ranieri had tried to not tinker so so much?
I think they all contribute to our current situation, plus a selection of other consequently issues (related to player morale/attitude, fitness, 'what do we do now?' Conundrum after last year) but some of the recent decisions probably were the final straw on the camels back.
To be fair to some inciteful journalists, there are stories detailing and considering the build up to this decision. And I have to say, considering our recent form, actually not just our form: the way we are just playing in general and the absolutely incessant stories every single day about how bad we are and doomed for relegation - it is a bl00dy cheek that many journalists are now acting so outraged and dramatising it as if it has occurred after a few early season losses. A bl00dy cheek but not a surprise as their aim is to drum up hysteria to sell papers.

I think that is the one criticism that can be levelled at the owners, why bother with the statement in the first place to then quite quickly go back on it.
Better to have kept quiet while they made their minds up.

Seriously not surprised that the vote of confidence is followed by sacking.
How can anybody think otherwise? One might hope they mean what they say in a perfect world, but reality is that such statements are only made in dire circumstances.
The players had a good winning mentality at the start of last season with a team built by Pearson. Ranieri didn't change a huge amount and the team went on to win the title. How much of that success was down to Claudio himself isn't known as it could be a luckily stumbled accross formula of Pearson's players, the excellent back room staff Pearson put in place and of course Ranieri. Ranieri has traditionally had bad 2nd season in club management and given the league position we are in under his management, rumoured fallings out amongst staff and players and confusing tactics as well as the nature of the performances and money spent, I don't think the owners had a choice.
It seems to me from reports that some senior players played a big part in this decision. If the outcome of that meeting had been yes then Ranieri would still be the manager, but the outcome was no, so it seems the owners went with the opinion of the likes of Kasper, so it seems that ultimately the players or at least some of them had the final decision. If they feel they cannot play for the guy anymore it must be the correct decision after all these same players were good enough to win the league last season.

Well I'd assume the players will be playing superb football come Monday night...
No they did not have a winning mentally at the start of the season!!! I watched them in LA Against PSG, though Vardy did not play because of wrist surgery. We were sh a . It' I felt we were already the slide!
Florida, I think Glory's comment on "winning mentality" referred to the start of 2015-16, following the great escape. I would agree that the start of this season was really, really different - looking back, the pre-season International Champions Cup games seemed to burst the bubble and the team have struggled ever since.
