"Later on we will find out what some old white men chose as their favourite movie of the year but first let's judge some women on their dress sense and looks."
On Friday night we decided to watch either Moonlight on Nocturnal Animals
We opted for Nocturnal Animals.
One of the worst films I have watched. Great idea in theory for a storyline but badly written.
Should have went for Moonlight
Seems like Moonlight is the right choice these days but no one wants to say it
Over the weekend I watched both Lalaland and Hacksaw Ridge.
For Lalaland, I really struggled to get into it for the first half hour or so but in the end I actually thought it was an enjoyable watch. Would I watch it again? No. And it certainly doesn't compare to some of the great musicals of the past.
I really enjoyed Hacksaw Ridge. I thought it was a terrific story, pretty gruesome at times, but a really good watch. Recommended.
Yet to watch Moonlight but will give it a watch at some point in the next week or so.

If you liked Hacksaw Ridge then go watch Kajaki
Kajaki is from the war in Afghanistan in 2006. No Hollywood, no cheese, very well written and acted.
I did thoroughly enjoy Hacksaw Ridge though, one of the best films I've seen this year
Hacksaw ridge was excellent ...a bit of a cheeseball war film but you can live with that .
best films of the year for me are
Deadpool
Arrival
i liked rogue one
and Lion
I really fancy nocturnal animals , dissapointed someone has said its piiish
Who in their right minds watches the Oscars ffs?
Shower of self back slapping huggy erseholes who suddenly think their opinions count.
I'd gladly mow them all down on their stupid red carpet.
Just fwck off.

If only more attention was given to the Nobel ceremony.
i didnt realise that hacksaw ridge was a true story, so when i was watching it i was thinking "this is a pure forrest gump rip off"
turns out forrest gump was the rip off.

The bit in Hacksaw Ridge where they went up the netting the final time and I says to Mrs Ginger "Why didn't they just cut it away after the first assault and stop making it so easy to get up there?"
Then you get that withering look that makes you feel very small indeed "Because they never went over as far as the risge before did they?" quoth she.
I just mumbled something about "well they should have" in a mood.
never one to back down, i would have done the same.
i like reading hollywood v history on these films to see how much is true and whats rubbish,
. Very true.
I'm pretty certain there will have been a lot of cinematic licensing going on there
#oscarssotwhite.......hmmm.
